Why doesn't Prince dance anymore? Can he still do it?
The James Brown splits? The jerky SOTT-style dance moves? The floor crawling? The leaps of the amps? Why doesn't Prince dance anymore? I saw him in Houston a few months ago and he basically just walked around the stage. A far cry from when I saw him in 1989 in Japan for Lovesexy.

Which was over 10 years ago. Maybe he can, maybe he can't. Nowdays, to me it sounds like he is more content to just concentrate on the guitar/piano/singing than dancing around.

He was dancing in the RAve video, but he does have a bad knee and gets shots of CortiSone. Maybe he's in Pain , maybe his Doctor advised him against it. Who knows. I wish he would dance more .

I think that Larry told him that dancing would conjur up the devil. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Personally, I'm glad he concentrates more on the music. Do you see how ridiculous James Brown looks when he attempts the splits and can't get back up? Or MJ still doing the same tired moves like the moonwalk?
Prince is a brilliant musician. He knows where his strengths are. Besides, it's fun to watch the people that get on stage with him. Go Tuna, Go Tuna.

He is an old man now, I really doubt that he can do those things anymore, when did he hurt his leg, last Celebration ? year before ??
from then I think he realised WOW I am an ol dman , I cant do this shit anymroe, let's just concentrate on the music and maybe they won't notice if the music is so great

I'm beginning to think that some fans actually think that Prince will NEVER age. Prince made all of his moves look so easy that I guess some people just assumed that he would be able to do those things forever. Time to wake up - even James Brown had to give up the splits sooner or later. I'm sure there are still probably certain moves that Prince can do, but knowing that Prince is a perfectionist, I think he would probably rather not do those things if he can't do it just perfect. And some of the moves, like the humping and grinding on the stage and all that, we'll probably never see again regardless of whether or not he's capable.
As much as I miss the old days when he could do all those acrobatic moves, I would much rather for him not to dance than to TRY to dance and look like he's struggling or lost a few steps. So as long as he keeps "making love to the strings", it's cool with me. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He's older now..but he can still do those dance moves...I just think he's more selective as 2 when and how much.
4 example..on Rave2000...it was on Pay-Per-View. Pay-Per-View = bigger audience = bigger performance

Those high heels will take a toll on anyone. Plus sometime entertainers dance unsafely in a manner that
looks good, but is damaging to their bodies. Also- he did some damage to his ankle, and if you have ever had a sprained ankle, you know that it will swell from time to time, or ache - long after the healing, and is definately weakend even after it has healed. Everything in the universe changes, why can't Prince- ya'll??? The road you choose to walk in this life, is a road that leads to the next.....

I think in a very very smart way.. Prince has grown up in some sense.. and has allowed THE MUSIC to take a for-front .. pushing back are the flashy (cartoonish clothes & dancing)..
hey its all great BUT it is nice to see a change, and grow into allowing only the music to be upfront

JW's have no problem with dancing! Quit blaming Larry Prince is an adult and makes his own decisions. Larry Grahm is not one of the men in black he daoes not have one of those mind earaser things. Prince has chosen his own path, nobody forced him.
