Fury video now online!

The video for "Fury" is now online on the front page of the NPG Music Club: http://www.npgmusicclub.com ..... The link at Housequake featuring the version of the video with the storyline has now been deleted at the request of NPGMC apparently.... The video is nice... I like the NPGMC version better actually, without the confusing storyline.... check out the tongue from Prince at the end razz

The video is nice... nothing that special.... but check out the tongue from Prince at the end razz

not bad. The performance part looked much more professional than the rest. It was pretty much the SNL performance with bits of that blonde girl running around and Prince thinking in the studio.

Eh... confused

He's regressed in his videos...and the editing is lacking, it doesn't take very good advantage of the strong sonic dynamics of the song...the edits almost seem arbitrary at times. The song deserved better.

The song itself, though, sounded great...his vocals and guitar seem to have been brought more to the forefront.

I completely agree!

Black Sweat video...perfect for the song! Love the black and white...love the woman dancing all crazy while he refuses to get down...love the interaction betweem them.

Te Amo Corazon...beautiful location, beautiful woman...romantic story...

Musicology...cute little story, great preformance...perfect visual to the song..

Call my name...great style...loving couples showing tender moments between two people...loved that guy trying to hollar at women on the street then sees a couple in love walking by and you can see the look on his face of how he wishes he could have that with someone and actually how having respect for a woman can make love so intense..

It looks like he just lazily slapped the video for Fury together..something about if really bothers me.

Hmmm, the performance footage clearly dates from recently, if the SNL performance is anything to go by, whereas the other toned footage smacks of an entirely different video... it was, what, ages ago last year that he hung out with Ms. Panama for a while and there were rumours 3121 was going to be a proper film of some sort... I wonder whether they have cobbled together footage from an unrelated project, perhaps even the unused Million Days video (the pic posted ages ago from the Million Days video seems to be identical to a shot in this video)

Certainly the endless running down corridors and the little girl make almost no sense. I get the feeling this video has been put together without a huge amount of new effort...

the performance parts are okay, but the stuff with miss panama and the little girl was a little bit cheezoid. if it would have been a full-on performance video with more shots of prince mugging for the camera and the gals dancing, it mighta been a more laid back mix of the "i like it there" and "cream" videos.

for some reason, as it is, it kinda reminds me of the "peach" video.

Clearly a quickie in-house job. If they hired additional video talent, it was totally wasted. This is no better than his laziest videos of the nineties.

My theory is that, after two polished videos that didn't help the singles much, he's decided to go back to his no frills approach. Remember how anti-video Prince was with Rave and the rants that appeared on his website, in which videos were practically dismissed as a costly waste of time? He is probably contractually required to make videos for 3121's singles and he just made this one on the cheap.

At least now we now why this video premiered on MTV Germany. I doubt MTV and VH1 would play it in the US without considerable encouragement($) from Universal or some solid radio play (in which case it would probably be reshot or reedited).

Maybe that's why he sticks his tongue out at the camera at the end...his way of saying "There's your damn video...happy?"...

Haha...so that Paisley Park video is legit? I didn't believe it was when I saw it because 1) it sucks, 2) Prince is no where to be found. Yeah, basically what you said...

The version of "Fury" definitely IS different than the album version as it also features background vocals by Tamar and the Twins. Maybe he recorded some overdubs with them after he has seen it worked out fine on SNL or to justify their presence in the video and it simply was too late to put that version on the album.

Other than that, I don't know what's going on. Prince doing no promotion, not exactly a high-budget video for an excellent song, possibly wasting the outstanding "Love" as a b-side, no tour announced yet. Maybe he hasn't read his record contract properly. Wouldn't be the first time. One more good album going into obscurity due to Mr. Nelson's contractual arrangements. It can have a party with TGE there.

In the best case, he will be so pissed off that he feels the need to record a triple album full of hardcore funk and heavy rock material. Then I don't mind the current situation. biggrin

After reading some of the responses on here, the video is better than I expected. It is about the same quality as the video for "call my name".

The "Call My Name" video is somewhere around a million times better, in my opinion. At least the production values are top-notch and the editing is professional and precise...on the "Fury" video the production values are standard and the editing is amateurish at best. Here's a hint: if Prince puts out a video which uses the cheesy zoom-in/zoom-out effect, it's gonna more than likely stink up the joint...lol smile

Was there supposed to be an actual story line or plot to this video?? Woman having dreams of running away from herself as a little girl to the studio just missing Prince by a minute and he sticks tongue out . . . . hmmm confuse

That video was not bad at all. A little confusing but not bad. Could he have done better, of course but this was not a video like "Come On" or "U Make My Sunshine" ill. He's got a beautiful chick in the video and I liked the end when he stuck his tongue out.
