I realize that there isn't much info regarding Tamar and how she was introduced to Prince just yet, but here is a question that is just bugging the hell out of me - especially since there has been ZERO promotion for 3121.

If 3121's bulk material was recorded in and around late 2004-early 2005, then WHY is it taking so long for Prince to finish Tamar's album? She is featured on nearly every song on 3121 (off the top of my head, she isn't on "Lolita", "Te Amo Corazon", or "Black Sweat") - am I to believe that Prince recorded NONE of her material back then? For a man who can churn out songs before he even gets out of bed, it sure as hell is taking a long time to work on a protege's album.

Or, perhaps, were her vocals added late in the mix? Is it possible that 3121 existed before he met her and when he did, he decided to have her lay down background vocals? I thought Cora and the new bandmembers were from Tamar's previous band, so that theory has holes in it.

In other words, what could possibly be taking so long for this damn album?

I have no proof of anything but I have a theory that they were a couple and have since broke up and her record wasn't finished so we will never see it.

I think the album was finished but they are re-working it.

Tamar met Prince in the 90s when she was singing with a group featuring beyonce.
She reconnneted with Prince a couple of years ago. Tamar vocals were not added.
So I guess you can say her presence on 3121 was planned. Her album is currently
scheduled to come out in June.
