Fellow Prince fans I need your help I am making a 2 CD "best of Prince" type of set. Here is the problem:
I only have room for one more song and it is between "Take me with U" and "17 Days". Now, "take me with U" is better known, but I think "17 days" is the better song. This compilation is for the casual Prince fan. The collection already has any songs from Purple Rain on it, yet "17 days" is the same era. Which one should I choose? "New Power slide...." |

That's something which you might want to take into account...Take Me With U is probably guaranteed to hook your listener immediately. I prefer weird music like 3121 myself, but Fury is much more accessible to the average listener. If the person you're making the CD for is the type of person who likes straightforward rock with no surprises, then I would have to suggest Fury. If they are more adventuresome with their music, then definitely 3121. gcu1 Just say "NO" to cow mucus consumption! | |

17 Days is his best B side, its a great song, and has a believable lyric, whereas Take me with u is pleasant sounding and bouncy thats it. That song and Darling Nikki are PR's weakest link, 17 Days, how could u even entertain the thought of comparing it to Take me with U.

Curious whats on your 2 cd set there?? Why not make a third cd full of fan favorites that did not make the charts. Honestly, when I make "greatest hits" sets they do not exlusively focus on the charts. Case in point, "Adore" was not a big song chartwise yet it frequently makes my collections. Also, I have a 2CD set for the newbie because mre would be overwhelming. I also, have an expanded 4 disc set that is a more comprehensive. "New Power slide...." |

I would say 17 Days regardless, but seeing as All Prince Radio on AOL stared Playing 17 Days just as I started reading this post, I really have to say 17 Days now. | |
