I find the version of IT on the album to be a bit weak, though it does have a great vocal track. However, the acoustic guitar version from the SOTT movie, is fantastic and is one of my favorite live tracks.

You know it'd be cool if Prince made "It" part of one of his piano medleys. The drums are so overbearing on the album that it's easy to miss the beautiful harmony hidden underneath,

"It" is THE baddest shit he's ever done
and, this brotha has ALOT of amazing joints.

but, "IT" is THAT muthfuckin ONE !!!

The problem with the song is that it isn`t interesting enough to go on as long as it does. IT is great at first, but then it gets tedious by the end.

Best song on the album. "It" was the first song to catch my ear when I bought the album. I love the drum machines and strong handclaps...very "Old Prince" sounding even though he had changed his style. This jam definately sounds like it was intended for the old fans.

Brilliant track , grabs you by the scruff of the neck and makes you submit with its driving beat , almost hypnotic , I chuckle at how often this track gets dismissed by people on here .

those "orchestral string stabs" don't sound so good after all these years...file with other teeth grindingly 80's sounds, such as fretless/slap bass...that Van Halen "skreee!" guitar noise... the sample "aaah YEAH"... confused

I think the guitar is more like a dated Pink Floyd sound.

Strange, I can't get enough of the orchestral stabs. Love 'em in House and Hi-NRG, and love Prince's little fascination with them circa 86-88.

cosign.

double that.

also, like I mentioned earlier, those dark, almost dissonant, breathy synth sounds... Total Prince, circa '87-'89. I wonder which Roland synth was responsible 4 those...

Anyone?

"All she Wants is" by duran duran is the same idea musically speaking. check it out! Of course it's a much more "pop" song. It also has killer guitar tracks that sound like distant serpants coiling in.

One of the few songs on the album that doesn't dig below the surface. Not terrible just nothing special.

That being said I would rather listen to IT than New Power Soul or Chaos entire.
