Recently my favorite online music critic, capn marvel started a page on prince. He's only posted his reviews of For You and Prince but this guy's very well versed and hilarious. his address is capnmusic.org

I don't think he knows what he's talking about. At least as far as U2, he's way off.

He also slams gays in his reviews. Not a fan.

I guess I don't understand where he's coming from. He'll give a decent grade to an album but totally trash the group in his review. Plus, the gay stuff really doesn't belong in music reviews, imo. I was reading some of the REM stuff, and it was just wrong.

I've yet to see him "totally trash" an artist he's reviewed. He insults and pokes fun at them but in his own words "I don't review music that I outright HATE". And to paraphrase what he said about gays in his REM page: I don't have anything against gays, I just think gay jokes are funny. It's possible to be a tolerant, enlightened person and still make jokes about certain things (check south park for reference).
