"Slow Love".
Gorgeous song, often overlooked because of the company it keeps on that amazing album. It's just a wonderful song, it took me a long time to appreciate it fully but now- I know better.

My favorite is "How come you don't call me anymore?" It's just the bomb to see him perform it live.
It was a b-side and some of these new jacks probably think Alicia Keys wrote it. pvtjoy

Oh, I too love "Count The days"!!!
Has anybody mentioned "Still Would Stand All Time"??? Listening to this song gave me much needed comfort after the trauma of watching those planes hit the Twin Towers in NYC... "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

Has anyone mentioned "Crucial" yet? Get a clue people!
"Friend Lover Sister Mother Wife" is another beautiful ignored classic that I only saw Calhoun mention. Can't believe anyone disses "Slow Love", I rarely hear bad word about any SOTT album track. Others (How underrated they are is all relative): Dark She Gave Her Angels One Kiss At A Time Man O War U Make My Sunshine Condition Of The Heart Pink Cashmere...

As long as you are referring to the version of "Crucial" featuring the gorgeous sax solo by Eric leeds, and not the half-assed version that was issued on the "Crystal Ball" triple CD set, I hear you, Essence "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

OK,
Since most of the songs I was going to mention have been discussed, I will place my vote for Underneath The Cream. Can't stop thinking about those... thighs. OMJ "Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut." Ernest Hemingway

Which kinda brings to mind the terrific "When Eye Lay My Hands On U"... This song is scorchingly erotic... "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

"When We're Dancing Close and Slow"- I think this is easily the best ballad on his eponymous album. "Still Waiting" bores me as does the album version of "With You." "It's Gonna Be Lonely" is good, but not nearly as intimate and vulnerable as "When We're Dancing Close and Slow."
"Tangerine"- very moody and impressionistic, this song is a masterpiece in my opinion. I think people dismiss it because it's become a trend to dismiss the entire "Rave" album.
