BTW...Why does Prince do this? It's like the Madonna "help me" thing? The Airing out of grievances is/was/has been is getting quite old. Fight your battles you got yourself in or have your lawyers do so.

Why does he have a hard time grasping what his fans want from him, which is really what this is about

the thing that gets him in trouble with the fans for doing cryptic stuff like this (even if it is thru npgmc, sam, or whoever) is that he never explains why. if we knew why, we might be more understanding.

True. Most of the responses I've seen have been extremely sarcastic and in places downright insulting. For all his nuttiness, Prince probably doesn't deserve this, and yet he pretty much calls on the fans' cynical sides and asks for it with these cryptic things he does.
