dontcha love prince, wether you get it or not, hes so prolific you could never possibly get it all, but the bits you get , get you, wether you understand his meaning or not.

What i would say, is when he wants to be heard, he makes it incredibly clear what hes talking about, so i just leave him to it without stressing about hidden meanings.

Basically, this guy (Prince) is really bummed because the love of his life (a lot of the filler for this explanation) left him and he is left alone (or Solo) as it were. The guy finds despair and really no avenue to turn too anymore. He's left so alone that he feels his is nothing and should be nothing (thus dead!)

It's hard to follow, though, since he sings it so out of tempo in the song. Believe me, it was hard to understand the guy because of this.
