I just noticed a thread on another fansite about some aftershow in 1998 where Prince sung "I've gotta go home y'all... I've gotta go back to America I've gotta go get ready for the bomb Osama Bin Laden getting ready to bomb America... you better watch out... 2001" Could someone please fill me in on how this is a coincidence and taken out of context? (Not seeking for agreement, huh?) I am sure there is more to the story. Was there a big when in 2001 USA was actually attacked by Osama Bin Laden?? Pretty wild stuff. [Edited 5/6/06 19:51pm] well actually, I think I wrote that because to think that Prince's statement was anything more than a coincidence is like going back to Prince's weird era (tora tora). I like him acting and talking more like an average person with normal feelings, dreams, desires in life as a human being. The tora tora era, even the name change to an unpronounceable symbol was a little too eccentric for me. I got so tired of the media cracking jokes about him in the 90's (and I didn't even consider myself a fan at the time). When he started using the name Prince again (after his contract with WB was finished) I felt that the name change and the wearing masks, chain etc to cover his face was for a very sound reason (business) even if unorthodox. If Prince predicted the 9/11 attacks in a song the way some were insinuating... well then to me, he is right back in that too weird catergory again. The Tora Tora Era was too eccentric for you. So it was not a good time to be known as Prince fan back then. Seems to me that the media has never liked Prince. They find him too unconventional. He rocks the boat too often (nowadays, with the one time record deal). I, on the other hand, am fascinated by the strange. To me having read the debate in this thread about Prince being psychic intrigued me due personal experiences that seem to me more than just coincidence.

So it would seem that you would welcome a visit from a dearly departed from "the other side". Me?? when I go to funerals, I say a secret prayer to the recently departed, "don't call me, I'll call you." I am fascinated to hear about unusual experiences, at the same time, it sort of gives me the willy's. And I prefer the Prince of Musicology tour moreso than of the Tora Tora. Yup, I said it. I guess because I don't like all eras equally that makes me a bad fan. uhn? "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack
