PINK CASHMERE(ACOUSTIC VERSION)

I just went thro my sistah's (BOOTLEGS) collection and I noticed the O+> name wit that song title beside it, so I took a listen and WOW this shit got me MAD GOOSBUMPS in my stomach when I heard it, I believe its an outtake from the Cristal Ball LP(CD # 4). Its only his voice and an acoustic guitar and its shorter than the Over-produced version, the vox and the guitar playing remineded me alot of 'Crazy you' and 'So blu' I even have doubts that this song was made 4 the 1st LP. Did anybody hear that???

The CD also include 'The morning papers'-LIVE at 87 eek??? Man, this man have dezons of OLD NEVA HEARD OF SONGS. But I must admit even tho the CD version is sooo much betta, I still love the live one.

Holla

i've (NEVER...oops-edit) heard this version of pink cashmere-only the Hits version...but i did relate to what you said about his 'neva heard before songs'.

P has so many songs, i wonder if we realize how blessed we are to have an artist who is so fruitful and prolific.
The guy lives to make songs, period.

I don't particulary agree w/ his business tactics, but if you really break it down, it's all about getting his recordings out at any cost, even to his popularity. I don't think he cares about it anymore.

Personally i would love to see his music shared amongst the masses--musically, I think he could've been the next Elvis or a combo of the Beatles and Mozart--but more recently P seems content with only dealing with the diehard fans or just the club members.

Maybe the popularity or acceptance he may have wanted came at too big of a cost to his integrity.

I agree, I knew that RAVE have the 80's touch but I sho didn't know that there're OLD songs in that LP(Strange but true' and the self-titled lp) Imagine the TRC eek?? Who knows wink?? All his glory came from the 80's days,DAMN I wanna put my hands on his non-released cuts.

The 'Pink Cashmere' demo actually dates from around the Lovesexy era.

The outtake you're probably talking about is a rough, less produced, version of the song that ended up on the 'Hits' compilation, but apart from a few polished edges here and there it is essentially the same song.

As far as I know, this is the only 'Pink Cashmere' demo circulating amongst collectors.

There's no live or studio version of "The Morning Papers" dating from 1987 -that's a plain lie. Even more, I'm nearly sure there's not a bootleg CD listing such a thing. Someone's trying to fool ya?

True...does it for me too. I first heard this song when I got the The hits/b-sides, and I was like wooow!!! Prince sings songs like that? That song is really profound, heartfelt, and special. 'Adore' is also on the same CD and when I first heard both, they just blew my mind. I can hear these songs EVERY SINGLE DAY and feel the same way about it. That's how I know they're one of my very favorites. smile

There's also the remix version of Pink Cashmere. (or is it acapella?). It's on the other side of the Pope promo, but I only ever spun the PC side once. The Pope remix rocks!
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.
