Prince has hinted over the years at re-doing His Catelog which song that is Considered a prince Classic would you want Him to re-do first&why??

When U were mine - because it sounds sooo much better live. It needs to be heavier, and sung with the deep vocal. The "mine babe, mine babe, mine babe!" bit needs to be added in the studio too!

Prince has re-done so many tunes on his own, and it's very interesting to hear the remixes.

Such as "Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic" and "Rave Into the Joy Fantastic" I enjoy both of them!
I wonder why he changed the name?

The song "Space" - remix on Audio 8 is beautiful. How romantic the line "with every stroke of my brush I want to paint a world around you so you will never know - all the pain that a person has to go through..." perhaps written for his new wife!


I didn't go to the Cele, but I would love to hear the version of Dolphin everyone talked about. Infact, it sounds like from all reports, that many songs played at the Cele had a different flair to them. So, I would like to hear all of them!

When Doves Cry would be interesting to hear updated. Even though other artists have recorded the song and updated it, I would like to hear how Prince would bring When Doves Cry from the 80s into the new millenium.

Squirrel Meat, I agree with your choice of "When U Were Mine". I'd love to hear this re-released with a heavier sound and more guitar work. (Most people don't know that it is a Prince original - they think Mitch Ryder did it first, then Cyndi Lauper . . .)

Another choice would be Paisley Park. The lyrics for the song are universal and timeless. I heard it live for the first time at the Detroit ONA soundcheck, and it sounded completely different (almost better IMO) with a harder/blues sound.

Probably, Computer Blue or Pink Cashmere. It would just be interesting to hear those songs now. His style has differed some since then.

I'd love to hear him revise the entire For You album probably because I've never heard him perform any of these live with the exception of Soft & Wet. A lot of these songs have potential to be much greater, and I'd love to hear what he could do with them now... especially "I'm Yours," "Baby," and "Just As Long As We're Together."
