It was Jam Of The Year, yes.

A longtime poster on AMP used to take credit for it, an indie artist in Virginia named Lee. Supposedly he had made mention to either Prince or Larry about collaborating. How unfortunate.

Wow, I'm not the only one that has thought about how Larry screwed up what was going to be an entire lifetime of pure heat. Think about it, Emancipation concert was hot and full of piano straddles and screams and sex. After that it's gone downhill, now we can't even get a damn split and what the hell is prince without the stage antics. One big jam sessions like "Live in Las Vegas" and "The Musicology Tour". I can't lie I like damn near anything that "P" does (except for Rainbow Children) but I miss the mother@#*&#@ that got me a ton of soft and wet over the years.

What is it that you're a fan of? Seems you want to toss the cake and eat the wrapper. Antics come cheap...it's the other stuff you don't get everyday.

It´s quite ironic how Prince kind of introduced a lot of people to Larry Graham and in the end a huge part of the fanbase ended up hating the man.

Before the Gold Experience era I hadn´t heard much of Larry, I knew about Sly and the Family Stone of course, but I wasn´t too familiar with all the bandmembers.

Then came the Beautiful Experience TV special where they played GCS´ The Jam, and then the Gold Experience tour (Ultiimate Live Experience tour) in Europe, and the NPG would play The Jam, Hair and other songs to death, which was cool aspart of that tour, but boy did I get bored of those songs after almost seven years in a row.

I read this interview with Larry in a German Jazz magazine in 95 where the interviewer talked about Prince covering Larry´s music , and Larry kinda liked it, said he´s heard about it and maybe one day they might do something together, but dude knew almost no Prince song at all, as he admitted during the interview.
I bought a couple of great GCS vinyl albums over the years and I don´t hate Larry as much as some other fans around here, but I´m still glad he´s out of the picture for now.Maybe he was a good friend , can´t say anything about that, but his musical influence , on the tours or the studio output or the propaganda, weren´t really my cup of tea.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
