I was gonna make this thread a couple weeks back and forgot about it, then I saw a post on another board that reminded me.... Anyway, what lyrics on 3121 did you mishear?

From the 1st time I heard the album in mid-February at the listening party, all the way until the album came out on the 20th here and i read the lyric sheet, I thought the lyric on The Word was:

"Who's gonna save us when them spiders get next to you
Spinning their sticky webs around what you do
Gotta, safeguard against FUNKYTOWN"

I was like.....what the hell has Lipps Inc got to do with anything??

theres a part in The Dance where he starts to scream and i could swear he was saying,

"just like lisa"...


but, umm...thats my own baises at play...

In Satisfied, I thought he was saying "seek this thing like a buried treasure (seek and destroy)." I have since found he says SINK not seek. Which is even better.

This is not an amusing anecdote, but it is what I thought.

I didn't mishear any lyrics cuz I have actually looked at the booklet of lyrics. Neener, neener, neener.

i still think 3121 sounds like he is saying 2121.....i guess its just me....

but,as with a few Prince albums...even teh lyric book is wrong

Check out Beautiful,Loved and Blessed where he quite clearly says "with all the FAME and glory" not Pain

and I cant hear "Forked-tongue" in The Word
