When I first heard the song I thought he said "Its going down, like a water ballon"

I thought that was a bit odd too.

Either way, I love the song.

3121 is tanking.

How about...it's going down like Bush's approval rating until he proves Osama's been found.

I just think it's at best a minor irritant. You should have seen fans react to the way he pronounces "giggle" in Condition of the Heart.

It always stuck out like a slightly sore thumb to me and I remember more than one critic commenting on it but it's not a biggie. It sounds fine in the song but it might have been good if he'd thought of a way not to use an obsolete reference.

I speculate that most of the music from the song was recorded in the early 90's.Which would explain the presence of Sonny T, and Michael Bland on the track. That's a lot closer to the Fall of the Berlin Wall. ('89).... Also, The style of the tune works more into the 93-95 NPG Tunes I think.,,,,

The lyrics sound like today mostly. "It's gonna be so much fun". Sounds like a weak ass line from "Life of the party".

Also, do we know what 3121 is suppossed to represent? Other than the name of his pad?

prince has referenced these kind of things a lot in his music so it is not
that long a stretch for him to use the Berlin Wall as a metaphor.

I've been saying how dumb that line is since March 21st. It's embarrassing.

A friend of mine was there in Berlin when the wall came down, said it changed his life. He seams to be the same, exept for one thing that he bought back a peace of the wall and a bit of barbed wire.

Yeah, I've noticed on quite a few of his songs on the last couple of albums that his rhyming sucks big time. Or he just puts a word in that doesn't make sense .

Don't forget that line in Incense and Candles (A song I do like)...where he says "I wanna smother you with something as shiny as the rims upon my ride" Gawd, that makes me want to puke. Why is he talking about rims.

But I think in some places he just used stand-in lyrics and forgot to go back and put real ones in ...

As evidence, I submit the following superfluous use of thing/thang in Satisfied ...If we get this thang right you're gonna get satified real soon ... I'm just tryna get you to think about doing thangs that you always wanted but could never find....I'm gonna sink this thing like buried treasure ...

It's one of my favorite songs, but still....
