the cheesiest most pointless utterance in Prince's career. "Yes"???? WTF?... Yes what? So cliched, so pointless and makes me cringe when I hear it...

The song is alright though.

I LOVE the 'yes'! It's a kewl way to start a song to me.

Now, Prince can do some cheesy stuff, but I don't see this as one of them.

Thanks, SynthiaRose!!! I just think it is so SEXY the way he says it and the song is Great. touched
Guess my Momma brought me up right, always taught me "If you an't got nothin' nice to say "SHUT UP"" yes yes yes

2 the titletrack itself....yes

the rest i listened to as far as 3 times, that is, i didn't like it in the first place and it didn't change my mind...

most overrated album of the year so far, i remember myself beeing disappointed at the graffity bridge album for the 1st time in Prince history.
I wish it was even half as good as that album.

And reading the credits afterwards to the 3121 album, i wasn't surprised the titletrack is actually from the 95/96 period with Michael and Sonny, a period where he really made some fantastic p-funk.

Yea "Grafitti Bridge" got like 5 stars in Rolling Stone before it came out. I was expecting a tour de force. But like you said, compared to 3121, it really is genius.

There are lots of hidden layers and messages yet to be discovered. No other artist builds these funky jams into music that we'll still be discovering for some time. biggrin

Yep I am just finished listening to it on my way to work!! But if you space it out listen to some other stuff and then come back to it. I think you might enjoy it more.

Fortunetly Van Hunt's cd came out and I found a Count Bass D cd so I haven't been listening to just Prince. But I heard it today and it sounds as fresh and good as ever to me.

It's still in my car, but I'm listening to it less and less. I knew this was going to happen damnit. There's just not enough there to hold my attention for repeated listening...

Not to be too retro.. but I remember the summer of 1987, I played the "Sign O' The Times" tape every single day for the whole summer. I had to get another tape. And then I got the 12"s and b sides and that was good for another few months of constant listening..

OMG...that's exactly what happened to my SOTT tape! I was in the 7th grade and have to save my allowance to buy a new tape after I literally stretched the tape to the max. Slow Love was literally Slooooow Loooove.....

I have listened to 3121 a little, but I've definitely outgrown my 'listen to Prince everyday' phase and like to mix it up now.
