Anyone else think Call My Name is a classic? Great Love Song. Not just a great Prince Song, but a great Love Song - like the kind Al Green and Marvin Gaye did.
Much of musicology feels this way to me...there's a 'reality' to it that I adore. I wanna be loved to the 9s, so let me cover your ass with this sheet, and baby, you better stay on the beat! Cause you know the Karma Sutra? I can rewrite it. But, with half as many words.

Hm, I'm not sure about my "feelings" towards Musicology as a whole. Call My Name is a very nice tune, but I miss, as on (am I allowed to say: most? ) other tunes, something striking.
when I got the album back in 2004, I was very, very enthusiastic about it (with the exception of Life O the party), but the flame was soon burning low. Now, with the arrival of 3121, I find myself listen to Musicology more often again. I like it, but i would not really say that call my name might be a classic. It sounds like one, but for me... it isn't. Right now, I enjoy 3121 so much more than I enjoyed Musicology back in 2004, and I listen more and more to it! ---- It's late and I'm tired - hope u know what I want to say

But still I think that Musicology is a (very ~ not so sure?) good album.

Absolutely!! The album, Musicology, has a lot of classic tracks!! Aside from Call My Name, I love the title track, Reflection, Cinnamon Girl, and If Eye Was the Man in Ur Life.
Years from now, the album Musicology will be better remembered than 3121. "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise."

Well, I think many of the people who chose to give it the Grammy thought so.
Of course it's a classic.

I think it's one of Prince's most overrated songs. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Nope. Too sugary Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Yep, fantastic song shame about the rest of the album... Keenmeister

A classic? No, dear, not in my book.
I can't even think what it sounds like except for the whiney "Caaaaal!... Cawwwwwl maaaa name" bit. Pass me the sick bucket.

I haven't heard the whole cd but cinnamon girl sounds pretty nostalgic
