Prince Debuts #1...Should he perform on TV in the morning?

Where will Prince celebrate his number 1 album?

Oprah
Ellen
Jay Leno
Today Show
Good Morning America
TRL
106 & PARK

or should he just release the next video on all music television networks!?

I think the more songs he plays from this album, the more people will realize how so-so it is. He may be okay with Fury, but the rest of the songs won't get much love.

They are getting love from critics for the most part...

I agree that some folks maybe taking the no.1 charting of 3121 as if it's the end all to be all...But on the other side of the fence there are folks who are doing some serious Debbie Downer...I mean, this was a thread covering what should be the midget's move TV wise...That's it...

Just as some of the fans are going overboard with the "rubbing it in the haters' faces" shit (guys, you can be happy without gloating; it ain't that serious one way or the other...), TimeKeeper, you seem to be stalking every post that has anything remotely positive to say about the old man...

Seriously dog, it's getting a little tired; and it's cool that some people joined this site to shit on the midget (I checked you out homie; it's all love though...)...But at least keep it honest because pretty soon, folks are just going to tune you out...; At the end of the day, both sides need to take it down a notch...especially, the cats who are out just to troll (what's up TimeKeeper?)...Peace and let's keep it all in perspective, people....

If reviews didn't matter when they were negative, they shouldn't matter now.

Great reviews won't mean much if the album disappears and no hits survive.

If people like me didn't post their views, the threads would be one sided and sterile. What's good about that? I post my side just like you post yours.

I'm just saying that if he plays piss poor songs on TV shows, it won't help him.

No disrespect TimeKeeper..But can we be honest for a minute?...Just for shits and giggles I checked your previous posts...and you've been a one-trick pony...I'm not the one to try to turn cats into robots; We should all be allowed to voice our opinions (That's the one thing I try to emphasize when "fams" go crazy after someone criticizes the midget...this should not be a Michael Jackson site...)

But it seems as if you just joined this site to have a little troll fest...Just as overzealous fans on the Org should be brought back down to earth, so should the folks, ONLY looking to stimulate negative dialogue...you haven't brought one once of stimulating conversation...That's my only point...At least try to be honest about your whole reason for even signing up to the Org...I would have more respect for your posts if you did....

I never said I didn't respect YOU, homie...It's not that serious...In fact you bring up some valid point about the fans suddenly caring about charts...but you also seem to be on one track with your opinion on the midget...That's the point I was trying to make...Cool?

I think that's where you may be wrong...I think one song that can sneak up the charts is"Lolita" It has the vintage '80s groove that's all over the radio right now; and it's just a fun ass song in the vain of a "Raspberry Beret..."
It can be a suprise hit; but knowing him he'll probably release "Satisfied" (LOL)...I'm hoping he makes the right move...

I disagree. I find that song to be very corny and I don't believe it will appeal to the masses. Putting that song out there would be a big mistake.

Hey, at least we're having a dialogue...I still disagree....remember who the song is targeted towards: The pop crowd...I think the words corny and pop go hand and hand...that's it's appeal...The only way I want to see "Fury" is if the midget adds some more damn guitar to that song...As an album cut it's cool, but as a single it needs more kick....

Yeah, but even the dumbest pop songs that make it have some sort of catchiness to them. Lolita doesn't have that. I think it's the most irritating song on 3121.

Well to me the true test is when I play shit for my folks that either liked Prince during the Purple Rain days and can't be bothered with him today or friends that know of him but never cared to listen to his music...and a good portion of those folks find "Lolita" a catchy song...I think sometimes as Prince fans we become too insulated in how we relate to the man...If you are talking about the music charts, you have to think like a consumer in some regard...

Which is why "Lolita" works in my humble opinion...It's a easy song to memorize and it has a catchy ass chorus....a straight-no-chaser song that gets to the point...

Prince could easily play 3121, Te Amo (great live), Satisfied, Fury, The Word, BL&B, The Dance, and Get on the Boat live. I think you are incorrect.

The album has two hits already. Te Amo and Black Sweat. You can't expect Prince to have radio hits these days. Radio is controlled by Clear Channel. Clear Channel ignores Prince. I'd say Black Sweat is a favorite of many, judging from the comments from fans on MySpace. People that are not contributors of prince.org seem to enjoy it.

Also, album sales are way down. Not many artists have staying power. Especially artists with no radio play. Shit, Parade wasn't a successful selling album either. I'd bet if you picked 100 people off the street, 1 or 2 at most would know anything about that album. But more than half would know about Purple Rain. So, is Parade not a great album?

Oh come on now! It's been years since Prince had a number 1 record. Everytime he didn't chart well the naysayers would be up in here going full force, declaring that Prince should just retire, he's through, he'll never make top 10 and hell would freeze over before he had a number 1.

So if those of us who had to suffer through that nonsense for years finally get the chance to gloat and say we knew he still had it in him. LET US!!!

Cuz you know good and well that if 3121 hadn't done well, we'd be overrun with "Told y'all it wasn't shit posts."

Sure Parade is a great album, and we all know what a huge hit Kiss was. Even 20 years later, that song gets played everywhere.

What song from 3121 will be played everywhere 20 years from now?
