Which Prince lp should have been a boot/which boot an lp?

Since we seem to be sooo busy coming up with album topics...

Chaos and Disorder shouldda been a bootleg.

Small Club should have been an official release.

I think The Black Album should've remained a boot. It was a boot for so long -- I think the official release killed the "mystique" of The Black Album.

I think that The Gold Experience should have been released complete with Interactive, DoW, Ripopgodazippa, Acknowledge Me, and the original Endorphinemachine . . . maybe a 3-CD set . . instead we got most of these on CB.

2 cds would have been more than enough.

That's right, Crystal Ball... but was there ever a bootleg with the original configuration? The closest thing I have TB's Dream Factory.

I believe you are right. Dream Factory is as close as you get. I've never seen a "boot" of the official configuration. Even though Prince released his version of it, if he released a remastered version, I'd buy it all over again even though I have all the songs on various boots.

Is there really an argument about supporting the bootleggers? Most of my stuff I've gotten through trade. I haven't spent a whole lot of money on boots cuz when I started collecting them, they dried up everywhere 3 months later. Anything I have on boot I'd buy again if Prince released it unedited and in good quality.

Sabotage are releasing the original configuration of this album in August. This should be a popular boot to get! big grin

I think Purple Finale should have been an official release and TGE should have been a double album.

But what do I know....
