OK a NICE POST for PRINCE- thanks man! I find myself lately maybe complaining like a frustrated Dad for my son to live up to his potential, but I then I started thinking...
Prince has been a part of my life since I was in junior high school, a long time, hes played a huge part in my life. Its been a joke for years with friends and family, they all email me when they hear about Prince's new cd coming out.. like I didn't know! ha Sure maybe 3121 has it's faults, but the point is that he's still creating music. He hasn't gone away like Sly Stone, he hasnt freaked out like MJ. He's still making music, and maybe sometimes it misses the mark, but if I can get even 5 minutes per cd that I like, then it's better than nothing.. Who else has a catalogue like Prince's.. Even if he doesn't put out another song ever again, I've got a lifetimes worth of awesome songs and geat memories.. OK that's my Prince tribute.. ______________________________________________

I feel u on this one. Everyone who knows me knows Prince is the one constant in my life, friends, ex-girls friends, my mama, my sister,co-workers-both now & then all know I'm a hardcore Prince fan. Since the 1st single 'I Wanna Be Your Lover', I couldn't figure Prince out from the way he dressed in the early days, but ...I knew he was both different & someone special. By the time Controversy hit I was a die-hard from the first listen of this mind blowing joint and the whole album, Prince opened this African American kid from San Diego's mind up to listen,love and respect Rock n Roll when my black friends wondered WTF was wrong with me. Prince had opened my mind & ears to a world outside of just black radio. Now my six year old son (Eric-Prince) teases me about listening to Prince all the time. I know he is a new P fan in the early stages like I was so many years ago. Thanks for all the great times,concerts and memories P, keep 'em coming. Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave! |

Yep I really understand what you mean. There is no celeb that I feel about like him. He inspires me so much and teaches me so much. His music has really enriched my life. Anyone who has ever met him I'm like "What is it like being in his presence?" He's just a one of a kind human being. | |

Maybe it is the sunshinning down on me, like god's smile onto his son, the sun keeps shinning on me. And on that note I understand your ununderstanding of me. So many Game players in the world one's only device is to question truth. Truth be known I can't be known until a day not that far off, but it is off still the same. Understandable that is gospil. i have to agree. Most of America is facinated with the lives of superstars, whether they think they're talented or not (i.e. Paris Hilton, ect.). But Prince is the one that will always be a constant in my life personally. I don't think that there is a person out there that shares his amount of passion for the music, and his fans like us are the ones who really do understand. i mean, i basically owe who i am today to him. He really did teach me a lot, and his music helped me come into myself. And even if i do get teased here and there for it, i know that here is where everyone shares the common bond of being a Prince fan. and i know i'm gonna be hardcore until i die. exactly ...5 mins of prince is worth the wait ...and the new album while not being consistent has got a lot more than 5 mins to offer. in as far innovating , well those days are over and that does nt just go for prince ,it goes for stevie,bowie etc...you get 10 years of greatness and then it goes ...but prince is a hard worker and every now and then he hits apon something even if its just a 20 second segment of brilliance here and there...as long as hes about im still gonna listen | |

Sure but he's GOT more than 20 sec or 1 song or even 3 great songs....he's just stretching out his output for longevity. I think he could easily put out 10 excellent tracks per year if he wanted to... | |

I heard someone say that this was going to be another concept album. But it didn't really hit me until yesterday. It was only my third listen all the way thru when i began hearing how Prince had put these song together. I finally could play it without interruption, i blasted it in my backyard, it made me dance and want to thank Prince too. 
I've never stopped appreciating him or tried to desert him, but this new release is so hot that I'm really glad that he has a job to do.    | |
