If Universal could get Prince on American Idol that would be phat...the last two weeks they have had Barry Manilow & Steve Wonder. While P would likely never do what they did I can't help but thinking some marketing execs heads are spinning thinking about ways to get Prince...the live performing juggernaunt on idol infront of 30 million viewers!
Man a Fury, Black Sweat, & Purple Rain performance would bring the house down and show everyone what a music ido really is! P throwing all these Hollywood friendly parties too...I know somebody over at Universal is working this [Edited 3/25/06 18:18pm] Dance... Let me see you dance | |

i am very happy that they have not done any more of his music than they have (how come u don't call me... was bad enought)
i would HATE to see him sit there watching people butcher his songs.... | |

nope don't get me worng I don't want them to perform Prince songs he wouldn't go for that....but perhaps Universal can get him on the show as a special guest
So many people watch that show (30 million a week) he would sell a ton of 3121 especially when people hear him sing Fury/Purple Rain and play the freakin guitar [Edited 3/26/06 13:59pm] Dance... Let me see you dance | |

Yeah, maybe he doesnt have to sit there and listen to these poor souls sing his songs. He can just do a couple of songs, then bounce. | |

Prince would come off as Simon the II and everyone would call him an ahole. He should stay away from Idol. It takes TALENT to pull off a Prince song and these rookies could not do it. Hell some of them would claim that they NEVER heard of Prince or that they not know such and such a song was a Prince song. How dumb would that sound..... | |

Just read in USAToday (todays addition) that Shakira and Wyclef are going to be performing on Wednesday nights elimination show.
This is exactly what I'm talking about...P doesn't have to do anything but perform on that show. Can you imagine him playing Fury live in front of an audinece of 30 millions people? They would all be saying what the heck are we watching these other busters for? Prince is the real deal. Universal needs to be working that for real By the way Paris, Mandisa, the other girl (the Brunnett), and Chris are the favorites...would love to see Chris break out in Purple Rain! It would definately boost sales and expose him 2 more people, but it just looks so cheesy when established stars perform in front of that American Idol logo, I hope this never happens. | |
