The legendary black album. I'm about to listen to it for the very first time.

It was put onto a mythical status pedestal that it can never hope to live upto simply because of its bootlegged nature. It may sound a little dated out of the context of when it was meant to be released, and with all the albums Prince has done since that it can be compared to. At the end of the day, it's just another Prince album - no more, no less.
