The Spiritual aspect of 3121 The masses will overlook this, as always
with all his CDs. Only time they "see" it is when the CDs dont sell.

The Spiritual aspects of 3121 are weak and lacking.
They seem generic, as if this is things he has been told by other people, instead of things he has searched for within his own soul. I don't want to crap on it. It isn't that bad. Prince should/could be doing much better spirituality stuff if he would get off the tit of religion. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I don't think that Prince is mimicking anyone, think about Controversy,Lovesexy and TRC....everyone knows that Prince has always had a belief in God and Christ....I think his lyrics are in the same vein of his earlier projects. I really think that everyone will be surprised how well this CD does.... [Edited 3/23/06 12:13pm] "A united state of mind will never be divided

I never said Prince was miMickinG andyone. More along the lines of externalized beLief system rather then internalized. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

His message has been and always will be there...
Its a question of people acknowledging the spiriual music--only time it seems so has been for TRC ---when people soiled themselves. So its ironic that a low selling quality CD gets all the religious attention and now a high selling average CD with alot of messages hasnt created hardly any spiritual stir.

I don't agree. One reason I tell everyone I am "not a prince fan" is that I couldn't care less about his music. I don't think there is anything special about his "Musicology". Granted he is talented. However, it is always been and will always be about the spirituality to me. I was arguing that Purple Rain did/was doing so well, because of the underlaying spiritual tones rather then beats and rifs. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

It certainly makes it special (to me) but Purple Rain sold well becasue it was pop , fresh, nothing like it at the time. Even I didnt realize it was so spiritual till I started delving into his music so fervently. NOW I remain interested cause I know it's there, even if its hidden with his latest commercial r & b....

Personally I don't see Purple Rain selling so well because it was "pop". That is an undefined beat that is a blanket turn that gets thrown on anything that hits.
Purple Rain did so well because it was a Movement. A movement created in the mind of Prince. it was a movement that could not be contained within his mind and thus needed to be written, produced and distrubited. It was one of his last vestages of reality. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

but as soon you talk scripture---" too preachy for me ". No one wants to hear someone talk scripture, not even from prince. Thus it needs be handled with a touch, but even at that I would frown upon it. The spiritual stuff that people find in that book came out of minds linked to a Heavenly Source. The reason so many dig it is because of that power. when you try to get those words and make them your own or share with another you are only regurgertating. Like Puking, no one want to be around that. If you want to shine a light unto a soul, that light must be your own not anothers. Spiritual maters require radiance not reflected light. I'm talkin about peoples reactions to ANY references cause automatically they assume hes preachin. But I like your radiance theory.

Yes, but this is because of years, decades, centuries and mellinia of such behavior. It is become almost hardwired into the human psychie that people looking to manipulate you will use the scriptures to do it. As a child. I was a sweet boy. All I wanted was a friend that would like me for me. One time, another child took great intrest in me as a "person", and I liked the attention. I thought we were to be great friends. That child invited me to church. When my parents declined, that child was no longer wanting to be "my friend". That child was using me as a reward for themselfs though the alure of friendship. Thus is 99.95% of everything and everyone dealing around religion. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

In many ways, that child I was is prince now. Execpt instead of a knowing parent to decline the users offer, prince wanted a friend and so he went to church, and his friendships there are there because he attends, shamefully it has nothing to do with Prince as a person. What a ruse. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Funny how folks somehow think religion is not spiritual.
Spiritual always has to be some mysterious eccentric thing or pracice someone experiences or does outside of a church. This is crazy really, as we are all spiritual beings, we are made that way,so wether you attend church or not, your spiritual. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

Enlighten me. You read a story. You enjoy the story. Good for you. I am happy for you. Don't come around telling me that "Lord of the Rings" is the best story ever written and that I should read it like you. You have a life outside the story. I hope you are enjoying your life. If you tell me a story about a restraunt you ate at and was particularly good, I might too want to dine there. I like to eat good food too. If You tell me, the story you read from lord of the rings told you to eat at that restruant, I'm going to look at you like you are crazy, because you are. Our own stories are much more prenevilant to eachother then perceived stories from a book with lose translation and genralized meanings. Be your own story. I was at a the lowest point of my life. Using women, having babies I shouldnt have, not working, actin'a fool. God spoke 2 me,told me he forgave me for my ways, he picked me up, cleansed me with my own tears, sent me on my way. I will never forget that day, I was 4 ever changed. Oh, and I ate at this badass chinese restaurant last nite...buffet! Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!
