3121 Prince VOX mix.

I've noticed, on more then a couple of tunes off 3121 that the major prince vocals are actually mastered under the music.

I mean: the prince vocals, his singing, seem to be mixed at a lower volume then the music being played.

Did anyone notice this?

Do you assume there is a meaning to it?
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

First first! woot!

STOP nit-pickin' and looking for deep, dark meanings in everything.

And buy a better system.

(Sorry, I'm crabby tonight.)
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

lol be crabby all you like, just do it elsewhere. lol

No I am not being nit-pickin. I have a good stero system. I wasn't complaining. I was simply stating something I noticed and was wondering if others had2. Also I would like discuss posable reasons for this editing discision.

Is Prince trying to put focus on the music over himself? He has done this "i don't want to be a false idol" crap before.

OK. No, I haven't heard what you're picking up on and no, I don't think he's trying to minimize himself by dropping the vocals down in the mix. Why would he? His voice is just as much an instrument as all the others he plays on the album.

I'd chalk it up to the simple fact that he determined that the mix he settled on best conveyed the overall artistic statement he wants to make and has nothing to do with any other hidden philosophy.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

Well I didn't mean any type of criptic meaning or anything like that.

Everything to me has meaning. It is why I am so good at reading people.

I ment in meaning more a inner psychological state. For Christ Sake, most people don't even knowthis.
