OK, I spend WAAAAAY too much time on Yahoo. So what if I created a "buy_3121" Yahoo ID? At first, it was just for fun on some music board. But I have to admit, I've had a blast posting with that ID on every Yahoo board I can find.

Sometimes, when I am not visiting this type website, I can be found over MSN. Yahoo and MSN are quite the same type place. it is a place that is generalized and has several diffrent types of people visiting daily.

When George Romero's New "Land of the Dead" moive was getting ready to come out, I changed my Id and annoyed everyone with a countdown and such things to "promote" the movie.

Thus: your action wasn't that uncommon. You are not lame. You are just suportive. And in one of those General website type places this behavior is good because those people have no lives and are looking for something to get intrested in.
