Am i a fam? I don't understand why prince's music appeals to me as much as it does, he seems so true and real, words really can't explain...don't you all have this same wierd feeling? like prince isn't something you'd think you would like but you just do, for me i can't ignore the uniquely pleasurable vibes i get from just about every song he's made. which is beyond judgement and ive never been able to feel any different about him since i first heard his material. does this make me a fam? the word fan i think evolved from "fanatic"....
prince often says his songs are his children. and he would rather have a friend rather than a fanatic buzzing round.. so he became fond of the term "fam"... it's short for family. We all love and care for him and his music like a big family. =) Those people casually into his music are fans in the usual sense.. those that are deeper into his music and follow his career a long time are called fams. Hey Chunky, I feel ya. Don't know about the fam thing. But I've loved Prince since I discovered his music, and I DON'T KNOW WHY!!!
Yeah, there's the obvious, that he's soooo genious. But his music hits so many different realms and genres, but I find my self LOVING IT ALL! I've often wondered, why do I love this? If it WASN'T Prince, would I even listen to this kinda sh*t? I don't know! I love him, cuz I do. I don't have an answer. STRANGE! | |

I feel exactly the same way about his music and the effect it has on me. I consider myself to be a fam in line with Prince's definition and because many people just don't 'get'Prince and I suppose as Prince enthusiasts we are all united like a family. Time is a trick.... | |

Prince has fans, and he has Fams too. A Fam is someone that is to close to be grouped in with the regular fans group. I think if you have to ask, you are not a Fam. I am not a Fam nor am I a Fan. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
