i received this message from a certain orgster... when i tried to reply, i was told that he had blocked messages from me.

nonw i don't believe i have ever addressed this person in my entire life... so i find this bizarre, not to mention wimpy. anyway, here is what he said:

JW gives you a nice little box to which all things can fit, but unfortunalty you can't convert the intelligent (sorry P, but it's true) because we've come out of the cave, we know that your little box doesn't solve any problems, it only creates more. "the accepted version if western society" is repressive right winged missonaries and christians who claim to be doing the lords work as they steal resources from brown people across the globe because they have guns and those people do not. western culure is "manifest destiny" and that is what P is buying into. therefore, he used to be counter culture and now he is not.

just wanted to apologize to you, mr. charles taze russell, for apparently having caused you pain by expressing my own simple, personal and heartfelt opinions. if you don't like 'em, well... that's kinda how it is in the world sometimes. we can't all agree and i don't know why this should unduly disturb you. especially in a public forum.

Well, I don't agree with a single word that that person wrote to you. I think he is the one who is ignorant because he is not willing to hold himself accountable for anything that he does. He leaves you that message, and tries to get the last word. I think that is pretty pathetic. Obviously he only knows what he has been told and has never taken the time to learn more thoroughly. He/She doesn't even know what they are talking about. They are following what the mass tells them to follow. This person has accepted the version of what people have told him and he is as brainwashed as they come. That is the trend today. Religion is bad; people are good. Religion is what causes people to do the studity and horror in the world. That's right blame religion for all your weaknesses and call yourself God. So Sad...I mean people are going to continue to blame religion for all the terrible things happening in the world. Any true Christian would not take advantage of a person and would not do horrible things in the name of God. People don't realize that there are bad apples out there who call themselves christians. That is not what Jesus taught us. This person is ignorant and just wants to have fun without the consequences. Ignore them, because it's not worth waisting your time on someone like this.

It is not a surprise that most comments that are negative about christianty are made by ignorant people. They have not taken the time to study the religion to understand that no Christian person would use their ability to witness as a means to manipulate people.

It's just a shame that in a community such as this there is so much in fighting.
It's a cliche at this point to say "can't we all just get along?" but can't we?
We're here with a common interest and we should try to focus on what we have in common rather that our disagreements.
Besides that it's the internet. You don't really know anyone here, and certainly not enough to wast the energy it takes to "hate" or argue.

you know guys, a difference of opinion is one thing... & can be perfectly civil. but it's the bitterness of guys like mr. russell that just gets to me... i just don't get it. it could be about JWs or anything else, ya know. i just don't dig negativity.

I always frown when anyone from any conviction or persuasion starts throwing accusations of ignorance and stupidity. Obviously, this issue is not very cut and dry, and even people who believe God created the universe in seven days still call it a mystery. If it's a mystery, then there is a great deal that is unknown and that no one can be sure about, thus the futility of speaking of "ignorance" in such matters.

I just realised - I don't care!

Okay guys, we'll just agree that we are ALL stupid and ignorant and leave it at that. Can we go back to living our lives now?

Maybe that was the way it was meant... possibly... if so, I still don't think that it is cool to "pity" people. I agree with saying "you are bitter" or something like that, but you are necessarily saying that you believe yourself to be better that someone when you say that you pity them.

i personally reserve my pity for only the saddest of cases. sometimes there's nothing more you can do for people BUT pity them. i don't really pity this CT russell guy. there's maybe one or two people i know personally that i do pity 'cause i've seen them create problem after problem for themselves, thanks to their own personal choices... but we're talking about drug addicts or mentally ill people who won't seek help...

Have to say I agree with most things the offender said. And I am not ignorant - I was raised as a christian and participated actively in my local church for many years. Then I came to a realisation that it was nonsense. I have since studied religion in depth, even going to live in an islamic country to find out about it. And I still think they are all nonsense - interesting, but nonsense. Buddha was pretty cool though, along with Jesus. Just a shame thte latter didn't leave a more positive legacy.
