Dear Prince,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people
regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your beliefs, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone has a tattoo, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 19:28 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.

Mm... I think you should make a note that you are not the author of this... right now, as is, it appears that you are taking credit for somebody else's work.

Call me a cynic, but I feel pretty safe to hazard a guess that not all of Prince's life has been led according to the Holy Scriptures. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but he might just have broken a few Bible rules over the years. Let him without sin cast the first stone and all that.

What you need to do, next time Prince throws a bible quote at someone for whatever reason, is hit him back with a quote of your own! Make one up if you like. Something like:

Ah hah! Well Mister Prince, if you look at the Book of Funkonomy in the New Testament you'll read "And yea the Lord did sayest that he that dost ponce about in high heels and makeup and thrust his pelvis about suggestively on stage shall not inherit the Kingdom of MTV".

thanks vaggie... i'm glad you decided to stick around.

lavish - i thot your scriptural choices were good & very much valid for christians. reminders that we should pay more attention to ourselves than our neighbor's bizness...

ian - i think prince is pretty new at this preaching bit... he probably needs to learn a little something about "tact." i'm not sure that it was ever his forte. but then again, so many have said he was really nice & cool w/ them, so maybe i'm thinkin' it depends on who ya talk to and how sensitive he or she is...

RE people who don't like JWs on this site... i think we're trying to explain why prince is doing what he does just now... we 1/2 way understand what's going on in his head. can't testify for everyone but i'd say the vast majority of us are fans, if not fams.

I haven't seen Prince in those pants since that MTV performance many years ago, so what are you talking ago!!!

Be careful y'all. Don't mistake true Christian ideals with what the JW's discuss and try and promote. They are two totally different things.

True Christianity does not waver. It does not change with the times. Much like traditional Islam, trad. Judaism, and trad. Buddhism, true Orthodox Christianity has been untainted for 2000 years. It's unfortunate that other Christian demoninations that have derived from the source can spoil its authenticity. Basically, all the above mentioned different religions should in essence work together due to the fact that they aren't really that different if you look at them from their roots. Take a look at Orthodox Christianity, for example. Study its origins. Study its bible. Its scriptures and teachings are still relevant today. Maybe Prince should seriously "do the work" rather than jump on Larry's bandwagon.

I'm not saying that it's the one and only religion, but if Prince wants to get serious about Christianity...he really should open his eyes and heart to it in its purest form.

starting point for y'all:

tatoos are wrong since they idolize humans who are just servants or children(according to jews and christains) of GOD.
if u get a prince tattoo, it means u are holding the image or the symbol of prince closer to u then u do with God.

That's an interesting (if slightly insane) perspective! Thanks for sharing that with the group.

Some points:

  • Perhaps you should change "tatoos are wrong" to "I as a Christian think that tattoos are wrong"
  • Tattoos don't necessarily "idolize" anything at all. If I got "I love Elvis" tattooed across my arse you'd have a point, but if my tattoo is an abstract symbol or image then it is exactly that.
  • Prince didn't invent the symbol himself. It's not his name either (and it never was, really). It's a nice symbol and makes a damn fine tattoo. In my opinion.
  • It really isn't your place or Prince's place to comment on anyone else's relationship with their God, based on the fact that they have a tattoo.
  • Not everyone is a Christian and not everyone shares your values and beliefs, or Prince's for that matter.

Prince is a man who wears makeup and high heels for fucks sake, so let's not take his opinion too seriously on such matters.

Im confused isnt Ctazerussell a JW or something. Not the name here but the real person. I figured someone here using that name is down with him. Or is it someone trying to be funny?

It is the name of the first president of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. He organized and financed using his own personal fortune the first group of Bible students who became the organization we know today as The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. His writings and studies of the scriptures jump-started the group that evolved into what we now have today in 235 lands. We view him as a very honorable person who sacrificed much so that we could progress to the point where we are today. He did not have all the answers, but was faithful to Jehovah and knew that in time we would all continue to grow in our understanding of Scripture and progress in knowledge as time went on (Prov 18:4)
Some like to lie and say that he is the person we follow and whose teachings we subscribe to. This is not the case. There are many changes and correctons we have made since he was alive and continue to do so today. We are not like the sects of Christendom who do this. We do not have a Luther,Wesley,Walden, etc. Christ is our leader. So, yes, I think "TAZE" here is trying to be cute or something with the name. I'm sure he'd tell you we are all "Russelites" or something stupid like that. If you want more info on Jehovah's Witnesses see http://www.jw-media.org or http://www.watchtower.org
Anything else besides info direct from the JWs is likely to be tainted with lies and anti-JW propaganda. As is evident on this site, there are quite a few people obsessed with us and try everything possible to keep people from being able to know what we have to say. (John 15:18,19)

Hey BT6789,

Isnt it also true that Charlie "Craze" Russell was found gulity of perjury due to lying in court about his knowledge of the Hebrew Language? And Theft by Deception for selling Miracle Wheat for $60.00 a bushel and that his gravestone is marked with an Egyptian pyramid, which was used to prophecy the end of the world in 1914?

Or is that propaganda too!!

Excellent points and information SexualChocolate, but it is my understanding that most or all Jehovah's Witnesses are not allowed to read other Christian literature except for the Watchtower, Awake!, and the Bible. Prince should be able to check out the link you provided and read anything he wants to better draw his conclusions about what he feels is right, but I don't think he can do that at this time. He really does need to open his eyes and heart again so he can "do the work".
