Just take it as it is!

In my opinion Prince follows the path many popular artists recording for more then 20 years have followed:
1) They are finding their own style, the things they are good at
2) They are at an artistic (sometimes commercial) peak for a certain ammount of years
3) The quality of their music demises: they try to recreate themselves, try different, new styles of music
4) They rediscover what was so good about their music, and deliver good records, with some great tracks on it

In my opinion artists like U2, REM, Van Morrison, Lou Reed and David Bowie have followed this path.

Prince is starting to enter phase 4 with 3121 in my opion. Dont expect another Parade or Sign from him (well, you never know), but be satisfied with himselve reconnecting with his own muse again.

In all seriousness, what is a MUSE? I've often wondered this. Can somebody enlighten me?

This from wikepedia...
In Greek mythology, the Muses (Greek Μουσαι, Mousai) are nine archaic goddesses who embody the right evocation of myth, inspired through remembered and improvised song and traditional "music" and dances. They were water nymphs, associated with the springs of Helicon and Pieris. They are sometimes called Pierides from their association with the spring of Pieres. The Olympian system set Apollo as their leader, Apollon Mousagetes.

According to Hesiod's Theogony, they are the daughters of Zeus, king of the gods, and Mnemosyne, goddess of memory. For Alcman and Mimnermus, they were even more primordial, springing from Uranus and Gaia. Pausanias supports that there were two generations of Muses; the first being daughters of Uranus and Gaia, the second from Zeus and Mnemosyne. Another rarer belief is that they are daughters of Harmonia (the daughter of Aphrodite and Ares) which contradicts with the myth in which they were dancing in the marriage of Harmonia and Cadmus.

Compare the Roman inspiring nymphs of springs, the Camenae.

Okay, so a muse is inspiration. So, I guess Mayte was his muse in the symbol album. Poor Mani, was she the muse for Musicology?

Anyways, guess his new muse ia Jehova.

It's whatever inspires you. For some (Hemingway, Faulkner) it's the bottle (they say). Other's like Picasso, it's the women in his life. It could be anything.
Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify
