then again, in the past i've hooked people up with stuff, reimbursed and not (a lot of the time i send stuff to folks outta the kindness of my heart). it's almost noon here in mpls and i'm about to go to lunch. i'm gonna go over to borders to see if the set's on their shelves. if it is, i might buy a copy and help someone out. i'm doubting it's at borders, but then again...who knows? stay tuned and cross yer fingers. | |

I don't see how it is going to be sold at somewhere as public as Borders when all these other places are saying it has either been cancelled, postponed or recalled! Let's face it folks, it has been cancelled/postponed as was revealed 2 weeks ago, even though they had actually manufactured and sent out the CD... and it looks like it's going to be harder to find than even the original Black Album! With all the advertising they did for this - recalling it is going to be costly for them - plus all the new advertising needed if it ever does get released at a later date - Warners are not going to be happy with the way this experiment in working with Prince went... | |

I GOT IT.
Went to Target and Circuit City in Jacksonville Florida this morning and found nothing. Circuit City had posted a notice that the "street date had been changed." I figured there was no use in going to Best Buy, but I went on my lunch break and much to my surprise, they had 3 copies. I bought them all. The track list is different than what I've seen posted online, but the sound quality is great. Hearing early-era tracks remastered really makes me hope all the more that Prince will give his back catalog the remastering treatment that it so badly needs. It reminds me of a lottery commercial airing in the NYC area where a couple looks outside their window and sees bundles of money falling from the sky. The woman urges the man to go outside and get it quick. The man says to hold on, there's only 6 or 7 million and to wait until there's more. No sooner does he finish the sentence then other people start screaming "money!" and in two seconds all the money is gone. | |
