Hey! I recently found a copy of this song on my computer and I wondered if anyone knows where its actually from? I can't seem to find any listing of it on album tracklists or anything. I quite like it and just wondered about its origins, if it was released etc. thanks for any replies!

So basicaly the song is about him taking Lisa from her man. Why does he seem to be so intrigued by doing that? Competitivness with other men? Insecurity maybe?

Hey did Prince really had a thang for Lisa back then? That is probably the reason why he wrote that song about her. Usually when Prince wrote a song about a woman. it seems like he digs her.

Also in Possessed it mention that there was something sexual went on with him and Lisa for a bit.

I'm not totally sure if this is even about Lisa Coleman. Hence maybe why he didn't include it on the album, so folks didn't think it was about Coleman. It could have easily been about another Lisa. Not saying that I don't think P and Lisa never hooked up, cuz I think they did. The song might not be about Coleman.

actually, i read the same in Star Tribune( and online), she gave a interview, that it was for Coleman. From what I read, they had a fight, and when she came back ( she was living with P at the time) she found a tape with full vocals and instrumental on it entitled "Lisa".

she did off and on for a couple of years when she 1st joined the band, she flew out from california to minnisota, he picked her up in his car at the airport( allowed her to smoke in his car, the ashtray hasnt even been used) and she also stated in that same article that he was trying to romance her as well.

Like I posted earlier, I always felt that P had slept with Lisa at one time or another, especially during the early 80's. P used Lisa vocals to the hilt on his 1999 album as well asher vocals on The Time's first 2 albums. Plus, she wrote the lyrics to "The Stick". Him working that closely with Lisa was going to wound up with them in the bed at some point. I know if I was working with Lisa like that, it would have been the same thing.

I always got the impression that Lisa is bi and I think that she likes both men and woman while Wendy is all-around lesbian.

But again I don't know for sure about Lisa.

I do believed that something went on between those two than meets the eye and since Prince and Lisa both are shy and also like to keep their lives private we will never know the truth.

Thanx for that link. Damn,...reading that, I must admit I was somewhat jealous being that I've ALWAYS had a thing for Lisa. I've stated several times on here how pretty I've always thought Lisa was. I had some comfort in thinking that, basically, Lisa and P were just "friends". But to read that Lisa said she actually lived with the cat for 2 years...damn...they were way more than friends at one stage, definately.

With listening to the lyrics on LISA, among with hearing several unofficial sources, I am not suprised to hear that Prince and Lisa were more than friends at one point. Oh my goddess! I heard that one too and I am serious. Someone did say that Prince got Lisa pregnant but what I heard differently was Lisa had abortion. Also I heard another rumour that Lisa used to be the rebel chick and used to throw house parties at her parents house. and finally that Lisa also did it with Andre, and some other band members. I wondered was Prince really revealing Lisa's true colors back then when he wrote that 'Lisa' song as he referred her as being nasty?

I don't know what too believed, but I am not going to say the rumours are false or true. I am so undecided.

Like I said quiet and lurkers back then like me read a lot of fasnating shit about Prince and his associates.
