I think Elton John and Prince have a lot of things in common:

They both were very huge commercially at one point, but then vanished from the general public's perception music-wise, with short-lived comebacks inbetween - but are still considered stars

They both throw out album after album, almost year after year - some good, some great, some mediocre, some crap

They have a hard-core fan base, which make all concerts sell-outs

If you ask someone about their latest release, most people will mention a song at least 10 years old...

Peaked in the 80s, had a popularity and sales decline in the 90s, haven't released anything of great substance ever since.

Also both him and prince are proper musicians, something MJ can never claim to be. Prince is however obviously greater than elton as he's the complete package. The perfect pop star. Oh and they both have shocking wardrobes.

Nas (yes, the rapper) reminds me of Prince in a parallel/ying-yang sort of way.

The have alot of bootlegged shit in the streets/underground

Theyve had several different aliases

They both have made big impacts in their genres respectively

They both make albums now that sound less commercial which are still pretty successful.

Emancipation was certified platinum only cause it was counted as three albums; Streets Disicple only went Gold cause it was counted as two albums.

Prince went to war with WB; Nas went to war with Def Jam and Hot97

Both have had many proteges under them - alot of them whom probably still hate their guts to this day.

Prince is JW; Nas is no longer a Muslim, but has his own religious beliefs - he choses not to eat red meat.

Prince biggest rival was Rick James; Nas biggest rival has alway been Jay-Z until now.

Both have had their share of ex-babymamadrama (Mayte for Prine, Carmen for Nas)

Prince was a soft voice, Nas has a throaty voice

Both always seem very relaxed and calm

Both make shocking political remarks in their songs.

Both love what the do for the art/culture

And both are weird...or just different in their own minds.
