Maybe he leeked them himself. You never know. Maybe he leeked some bootlegs too.

maybe in november 2000 he knew an album called 3121 would be leaked 2 weeks in advance 5+ years from now (then), but i think its unlikely, really...

Perhaps.....Prince in all his wisdom has recorded all the IP addresses of those who downloaded this leaked version and now is sending the Purple Police round to confiscate our Bootlegs !!!!!

Does seem a little iffy though.

The leak may have come from someone snagging it at one of the listening parties. If you look at alot of the albums that leak onto the internet, they're usually labeled as advance copies, and the movies that leak usually have "screener" messages on them.

I think the leak was on purpose, if only to create some more buzz/hype.

Universal and Prince still have the Purple ticket catch, ala giving away Musicology at the concerts to generate album sales. I know that I am going to purchase several copies of 3121 that I will give to family and friends hoping for a ticket.

That, a strong list of Pop songs and killer tour is going to sell 3121.

I hope Love gets released, but it needs a KILLER video to support it.

I think he will be pissed off in a big way, and I bet it will be the first step stage in a slanging match with Universal.

Second stage will be the fall out when he tells them he wants to make a 10 million dollar video for the whole album.

Third stage will be when the album fails to shift millions and he will blame their lack of marketing.

Fourth and final nail will be when (after Tamars failure) he suggests a Run DMC style combo featuring Tony M and Kirky J.

Somebody is pissed because I'm in hotwater for playing the album on NewPowerRadio.

Torrenspy, one of the sites that initially listed the torrent for the album, removed it pretty quickly. They generally comply with the record label's requests to take stuff down, so it seems someone from Universal or Prince's camp is going after the people sharing this.
