Do you think that Prince should have been brave and released 3121 as the first single. For me, this is traditional genius prince. Do you think the general public would get this song??

I get it but dont really like it - wish this track was experimental but in a cooler way - sorry Camille - unfortunately this and fury r the 2 weakest songs on the CD and I LOVE this CD!

I thought the "Black Sweat"-single was quite a risky choice and it didn't seem to work that well from a commercial standpoint. So I doubt "3121" would have made any better impact.

3121 sounds like something Prince could have done in the 80s. It wouldn't have been a hit then and it wouldn't be a hit now, but it makes a great album track. For a song about having parties at his house, it is a surprisingly downbeat, un-partylike song,the melody doesn't match the meaning, but that helps to make it a weird but cool album track.

The Word would have been a perfect first single with a good video. I have the video in my head and it's staying there as I don't have the budget. It involves blue sceens and clouds. Oh yes..thats Raspberry Beret and I Wish U Heaven. I'm anti progression.

"Black Sweat" is a good choice for a single.
Its still in rotation on MTV, Vh1, Logo, & BET!

Its not a bad choice,its pure PRINCE and it lets us know he's still the funkiest!
Everyone complains about his choice of singles, but even if he listened to everyone online in the prince community and released singles we thought were best and they still didn't impact radio, we'd still be complaining.

So let him do his thang.
3121 is a good album and its refreshing to have Prince around in 2006.

3121 is a killer song, but I doubt it would be a great single ...it´s cool the way it is, i.e. one of his best album openers right there with Let´s Go Crazy and Thunder and Sign Of The Times and 1999....sure, those other songs are classics and probably musically more interesting, but 3121 kicks serious ass.

I would say the dance should have been his first single... love would be the 2nd

No, I think this song is totally for the fans.

I love the 3121 title track!! Wish there were songs simular to it on the album! I can't stop listening to the joint! Hopefully P releases an extended version of this track!
