Fury SNL vs 3121 version (I know, I know) But, I have a question.

Yes, the SNL version of Fury is excellent and better than the studio version. I dig the album version too.

BUT, my question is this?

Is there any Prince song that is not better when performed LIVE? I cannot think of one.

Well I loathe the Take Me With U/Raspberry Beret medley, but I like the individual studio tracks.

I prefer the sing along live versions of those.

I agree that there are a handful of songs where the studio version is better, but that is the rare exception. I find all the complaining about how Fury is better live to be really silly, because it is supposed to kick butt live. I compare the live vs. studio version of Fury to the live vs. studio version of "I could never take the place of your man." Both versions are great, but the song was made to be performed live.
