and "Come On" is one of the best things I've heard him do! It's completely Camille and has a similar vocal quality as "If I Was Your Girlfriend".

One of my favorite albums! The black sheep of Prince records but I don't care! You forgot Shoo-Bed-Oooh....that song makes me sad because I think about one of my friends that I love alot.

The album Isen't good... It's (In my opinion) his worst album in the 90's...

"come on" is better than the entire musicology album put together.

and that whisper sound effect that creeps in and out of "The One" is cool.

and "Wasted Kisses" is an actual lyrical personal SONG.

I love, love, love the strings from "Come On". I adore this song so much. Because of my affinity for this track, it took me awhile to realize the rest of the album ain't too good. (Though I do like "The One", "Wasted Kisses", and "Push It Up.")

I cant wait 2 get new power soul. i got in ebay a bit ago but it hasnt come in yet..grr! but "the one" is one of my all time fav. Prince songs. i have feeling i'll like this album, since most people hear dont like it it's usually a sign i'll like something.

I think the lyrics of "Mr Man" are like an elementary school report, he is pandering to the lowest common deniminator to seem political.

I like "IllusionCOma", but its not as cool as "Come On".

"a million days" doesn't seem to have enought to it, sounds like half the idea was recorded. It needed one more pass to please me.

"relection" is too boring for me in its melody and mood

"Life of the Party" could have used cooler lyrics! they're not cool like "COme On"

I think people regard it bad because of the songs I left off my list. but then again i think most people have no clue/direction and just jump on bandwagons. But I do respect your opinion... in truth, music is subjective and abstract.

Really a nice album tainted by the less than stellar , ahem...albumcover "art"work...but I really like the music on it...the only songs I DON ´T like on it are Push It Up and I Like Funky Music.

These songs are great, and if they were bootlegs/outtakes people would be praising them nonstop....

The rest is decent.


And talking about Musicology...I can´t stand the title track itself but A Million Days and If I was The Man In Your Life and Reflection and so on were nice Prince songs....only unlistenable track in my opinion was On The Couch ( unbearably boring) and myabe Dear Mr.Man and Life O the Party for their cheesy lyrics....other than that it was ok ...the lyrics are getting a bit too cryptical these days, so not everybody can relate to them but he´s still releasing tight music.

It's odd, disjointed, has gills for a mouth and toenail teeth. The runt the mama loves most, a crippled Prodigal Son. I love it. But I also prefer Come to Purple Rain, so what do I know?

He even said "there's hidden gems in there".

Comne On, The One, Wasted Kisses , & ShoobedooH are the only great tracks.
Some others are Ok and the bad ones are painful.
