Whaddayaknow........

I was driving in Cleveland today and noticed an "odd" billboard... it was a Chevrolet advertisment regarding the Corvette...(I bet you know where I am going with this...smile )...the ad simply quoted from a popular song..."Baby you're much 2 fast!" Cool...until you notice it was credited to the song writer... prince! Yes...the symbol!

I thought this song was A LOT older than that! lol

You are right... it is a lot older than that and they shouldn't have used the prince symbol...

This has, by the way, been posted 62 times now though...

I have a feeling that Prince is having problems using the name Prince. Maybe, everything that WB owns can only be re-mastered and released under the name o(+> for some reason. I know Prince acknowledged some problems with using the name, in an online Q & A from 2000. "The Rainbow Children" doesn't have his name on the front and the name Prince is only on the spine in almost-to-dark-to-read letters. Maybe the Very Best Of o(+> is re-mastered Prince tunes.

Well, he changed his name into a 'symbol' and said: Prince will forever remain DEAD!!

Then why go back to his original name(PRINCE)?? He could've kept his name in the 1st place without going into the whole symbol mess he went thro. PLUS keeping his mastars.

prince was reported to have asked club members at an ONA soundcheck if he should give permission to the corvette company to use the song (prince owns his publishing rights)
AND the name prince

The problem WB has with fully exploiting the name Prince by Prince himself, is that it conflicts with WB's rights and interest they still have in owning his old masters.
But I would be very surprised if that would have led to Prince only vaguely scribbling his name on the TRC cd. After all, it was widely advertised as the new cd from Prince. Also, his entire site hangs on the name Prince, advertising for his new music like hell.

A new cd is however indeed a more direct form of competetion with WB and could thus cause a conflict of rights and interests, which may have led to some friction.

Why would he do that? I have no idea what he was thinking, or for that matter, what his surgeon was thinking. How sad.

I have been trying to tell everyone about this for a long time... the surgery was actually a BIG success, as it was the first time that a human being's nose had been replaced with a Chicklet. From what I understand, that is commonplace now and will soon be in vogue.

You didn't have to use "Chicklet". Anything but those. I eat a package of those every day...and now, all I'll think about is this. Not nice, Ice! evil

You don't actually have to think of Mike Jackson's nose every time you eat a case or two of Chicklets... instead, you can think of happy puppies and kitties or something...

...I mean, not that you are eating puppies or kitties... or otters, for that matter... but... well, you get the idea.

Hey... come on now... I was just embellishing for the comedic value... even a blind man with no hands can see that you don't eat a case or two of Chicklets on a daily basis...

In fact, Stevie Wonder called me up out of the blue yesterday and he went on and on about how fine you were... you know what the funny thing is? I don't even know Stevie Wonder!

Prince achieved what he desired...to have that symbol thingamadoohickey stand for his name...now he's back to being Prince, and that symbol still works...
