Could "Girl" the 12" be the most embarrassing song? this song sounds like the fodder of all the comedy routines, the imitators, etc.... NO WAY! Girl is from the glorious time of amazing B sides. Nothing embarrasing about it at all!! not even close! It's the type of song that completely differentiated Prince from other artists and helped establish a very hardcore set of fans. It's not meant to be for the casual top 40 pop listener, but if you want to have a full picture of what Prince was about during the 80s, the B sides provide it. | |

" If I was anything else I'd be the water in your bath, darling  I've never heard the whole 12" version, but I think the version on the B-sides is beautiful. You quoted my favorite lines...I absolutely love his voice with he says the lines I bolded.
