Its like 1/2 Prince 1/2 NPG
No wonder he labeled it as an NPG lp

I just gave NPS another gander to see I things had changed over the years. Sadly not.
Although a lot of people seem to like NPS (the song) I just prefer Big Fun over New Power Soul and I find the partial reuse of Big Fun kind of annoying. "Freaks on this side" was better than i remember, but "i like funk music" was painful

I always felt push it up and freaks on this side sounded to much a like.

I doubt it. Most of the Emancipation era bootlegs had me thinking "wow, this sucks! No wonder he didn't release it". To me, that whole era was lacking in soul. Prince was coasting, and wasn't really putting any thought or effort into his music. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

And you're inside typing your messages on the computer so can't hear it playing. Sounds good to me . RIP

considering the timeline, it was probably written about his son.

He even said "there's hidden gems in there". Comne On, The One, Wasted Kisses , & ShoobedooH are the only great tracks. Some others are Ok and the bad ones are painful. he also compared "graffiti bridge" to "the wizard of oz."
