Warners are re-releasing The very best of Prince

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvw...tiaryID=-1

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvw...sku=486653

Artist: Prince
Title: Very best of
Release date: 31-7-06
Label: Warners
Price: £17:99

This WONT effect the sales of 3121 ot Ultimate as it is released 4 months later! (Thank fuck... lol)

However, it could introduce new fans to the likes of Purple Rain, Gett Off, When Doves Cry an Let's go Crazy... so i suppose that's a good thing. smile

weird, since rhino is a part of warners and they're releasing the ultimate prince collection next month. i guess WB is "quietly" reissuing VBOP for those who don't wanna spring for a two-disc deluxe set. shrug

True.

HMV have zillions of those things in 'The Brits' section for £9.99 (i think). people with only a vague or passing interest in Prince should get one now.

Come on, don't be so juvenile.

"Oooooohhhhh!! The big scary corporate vampire Warners is sucking all the life out of the helpless little dame, Prince!!"

Let's all burn our copies of the contractual obligatory release Chaos & Disorder!! demon

They are a RECORD COMPANY, it's their business. They own the rights to the music, they're not doing anything illegal or that contravenes the copyright or contract.

Seriously, they're just selling Prince records. What's wrong with that? Millions of individuals have done the same with Graffiti Bridge, Batman, Chaos & Disorder, etc!

Of course it's their buisness, and they can do as they please. But it's ridiculous considering that they usually have at least 5 copies in every hmv music zone etc. There is just no need to re-release it!
