To me Da da daa is the worse song on the album. I don't know why prince put that track on there???

YES YES YES! Worst song on the whole set.

Though I have to admit, the second half of it, after Scrappy Doo has stopped rapping and Prince takes over, isn't half bad. But Scrape Doo Doo ruins the song as a whole.

i think "da da da" at least had its heart in the right place... the same can't be said for "mr. happy"... and let's not forget "white mansion"... that song is tah-errible...

I think the worst song is New World. I skip it every time.

The first 3 seconds of that song sound like Prince having convulsions and passing out.

Song sucks... but the CDs set as a whole is VERY good.

I have to say that i hardly ever play emancipation.. i mean, i've only played it a few times and have to keep skipping songs.

The whole production on the album sucks big time.. too much roland rompler synths i guess Having a roland synth myself i can't help recognizing lots of the presets (anyone who has a JV-synth, dial up patch A76 (house bass) to hear one of P's most overused sounds).

There are a few nice tunes as well.. sex in the summer is kindof bearable, i guess. Lots of songs that really make me cringe.. i mean 'let's have a baby' it terrible.. soul sanctualry.. don't get me started.

I do like emale, joint to joint, my computer, jam of the year and a few others.

It's going to be a close contest between betcha, courtin time and let's have a baby as far as worst song is concerned though.

ah well in the end it's just a mixed bag, some diamonds, and some crappy stuff, and some stuff which cou;d benefit from some better production, i guess.

It's a tough one, there's a lot of competition on the album the title of worst song.

Da Da Da and Mr. Crappy are obvious choices, I'll also give a mention to Slave which I find annoying self-pityful beyond belief.

I remember at the time of it coming out, many were creaming over Joint 2 Joint saying it was the old Prince back just because it was a rather episodic track - I always thought it was one of the most lifeless and tepid things on the album.

So yeah, there you go - On a more positive tip, I see Courtin' Time blasted a lot, but I always liked that one.

I don't hate Da Da Da, but it has no place on Emanicpation. It's not a Prince song. It'd be fine as a B-Side.

Mr. Happy is a Prince song, at least.

The song I skip every time, though, is Dreamin' About You. The music is nice, but I can't stand the poetry or the singing.

I Cant Make U Love Me gets honorable mention as a great song, but I was already so sick of it when Emancipation came out I could hardly listen to it.

first, i love his slow songs... i still left a bunch on there... somebody's somebody, one kiss at a time, etc... i would leave off F/L/S/M/W because i think he said all that better in "Saviour"...

but let's be honest... emancipation is only included because it brings his whole slave trip to a close, not because it's a good song... i consider it more like a grafitti bridge, than say a purple rain or even a come...

so i would say drop the 12 songs, release it as a double LP and call it holy river... which i think is one of his best songs ever...
