top40.about.com says Prince "back on track"

Also predicts 3121 will be one of the pop events of the spring!

Friday Fun Video: Prince - Black Sweat

Just released yesterday, "Black Sweat" is the latest from Prince. It is a teaser for his upcoming album 3121 to be released March 21. For my taste, it is one of the classics...in line with the stripped down funk of "Kiss." Prince is completely back on track, and the new album will be one of the pop events of the spring.

Head on over to VH1 to watch this week's Friday Fun Video "Black Sweat."

that's great!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Not that I care about charts and all but I hope this song makes it's way into regular radio rotation. I swear there are exactly 6 acts that get urban radio play and I'm sick of all of them:

Alicia Keys - Unbreakable
Bow Wow- As Fresh As I'm Is
Jaime Fox - Unpredictible
Kayne West - Golddigger and that other song with the guy from Maroon 5
Mariah Carey - pick a single from her album
Mary J. Blige - her new song

I wonder how many of these "media" outlets are actually Universal payoffs. The benefits of being pushed by the largest record label in the world.

LOL.....I was thinking the same thing. This song is no where along the lines of Kiss. I'll be surprise if it becomes a hit.

On one hand, I'd like to see him get airplay. However, on the other hand, I'm afraid if he gets very much airplay, he might come back on the following album with some watered down stuff in hopes that he would continue getting airplay. I'd rather see him not get airplay.....unless the trend in current music changes, which I don't see happening anytime soon.

You know how Prince tends to roll once he has a commercial victory he veers off into some other direction (sometimes good/sometimes bad) but hardly ever stays the course one would expect.
