Adam Carrolla Completely Dismisses Prince

I tuned into Adam Carrolla this morning to hear him playing Erotic City. Being from Loveline, and being immature, I expected him to rave about what a genius Prince was.

On the contrary, he said the song was incredibly stupid, Prince was a self serving weirdo who kept selling us on how sexy he was, and the whole "Prince is a genius" thing had to stop.

It was kind of funny, because Erotic City is a pretty simple song and you can kind of hear where he's coming from, but frustrating, too because I knew he was wrong.

His guest said it set his toes tappin.

Adam then went on to say that Toad the Wet Sprocket was better than the Red Hot Chili Peppers and that the Who was the greatest band ever.

And of course this has nothing to do with Howard Stern being an acknowledged Prince fan. Just silly.

Now that makes NO sense. He IS immature and low brow, so I don't think he'd ever "get" prince.

I mean he had on Steve-O on his show (who consequently busted the set up becasue adam got him SMASHING drunk) for crimminy sakes...TWICE! Good times.

Consider the source - Adam Corolla is basically about 14 minutes through his 15 minutes of fame. His highlight was the Pamela Anderson roast. He needs to bow down and kiss the boots, nasty bee-otch that he is!

Unfortuneatly he's had more than 15 min I'm afraid. We should have seen the last of him on Loveline. Dr Drew was the best on that show.

There's two types of Prince fans. Those who respect his musicianship & artistry and those who like him because he sings about sex and gets hot chicks. The latter category includes folks like Beavis & Butthead.

That's fine. Adam said RHCP weren't very musically inclined; they were a cool band that posers think are great.

What wrong with "Erotic City" being a simple song. I think Adam and a lot of people are trying to be to deep about a simple funk jam from the 80's.

If this guy think "Toad the Wet Sprocket " is deep he needs help.

Nothing's wrong with it. I love the song. But I can see not understanding the genius of "Whoa Ooh Whoa, Whoa Ooh Whoa, Whoa Ooh Whoa Ooh Whoa!"

It maybe wasn't the best example of his "genius."

I always thought Adam Corolla to be a much un-funnier version of Norm MacDonald.

And Norm MacDonald isn't funny.

Doesn't he even resemble Norm a little?

I read on marksfriggin.com that, like Donnie Simpson, Howard thought Prince's SNL appearance sucked. I thought for sure that Howard would have liked "Fury". What's with all the radio jocks dissing Prince on air?

Definitely LOW BROW. I can't stand this guy, his vulgarity on Drawn Together is not funny.

Michelangelo couldn't sculpt shit.
Van Gogh would have been a better painter with a set of crayola.
Ernest Hemingway should have stuck to journalism.

There... hope I made a name for myself as a revolutionary taste arbitrer.
