after watching his performance on snl
i caught on 2 what the concept of 3121 is:an attempt 2 appease every prince fan/critic out there.
there's no one out there that can switch up genres like him
the tracks that have been released so far have all been different
te amo sounds nothing like black sweat
black sweat sounds nothing like fury
and fury sounds nothing like beautiful, blesssed..

at 47/48..this man is amazing
not that many artists are still attempting 2 b artistic/relevant after 28 years or more in the music biz
sure the glory days are behind him and the chances of him letting hs ego go and making another _____ (fill in the blank w/ur fav prince album) are slim 2 none
while i am not swimming in excitement over these songs
i can always rely on him doing whatever he wants 2 do whether i like it or not.

As usual, Prince doing the unusual. I mean, it's what being a Prince fan is all about, embracing the anti-norm way and showing others the way!

Judging by the first three "3121" tracks that have surfaced ("Te Amo Corazon," "Black Sweat" and "Fury"), I'll bet the execs at Universal busted a figurative nut when Prince played the full album for them the first time.

Yeah - interesting to see the comparisons - I have absolutely loved what I've heard so far from 3121, but none of the tracks so far have sounded very original - this is what I miss from the old days, and why I doubt that 3121 will be another SOTT or anything else - i.e. to be that, it would need to sound different than anything he's done before. I don't want the album to be full of solid tracks that sound like past Prince songs.
