TO ALL OF THOSE WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE MADEA PLAYS AND THE MOVIES, YOU WILL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, THE REST OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW ABOUT MADEA GO TO VIDEO STORES AND BUY THE DVDS . THESE ARE SOME VERY FUNNY PLAYS MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIES. LAST SATURDAY IN L.A. PRINCE AND CHAKA KHAN ATTENDED. HERE IS THE ARTICLE FROM IT.OH YEAH OPRAH ATTENDED THE NIGHT BEFORE.


In response to my last email, I got all the emails of kindness and I want to
say Thank You for all of your support. I know that you guys are with me and
I really appreciate it. I had to say a prayer and Thank God for all of you.

As for the Oprah show, it airs tomorrow, Friday January 27th. I don't know
what I was so concerned about, it really went well. I did do Madea, on the
show, and it was a blast. I was so nervous, but Oprah in grand fashion was
her good old charming self and made me feel very comfortable. She was so
gracious and kind that we adlibbed the whole Madea interview and it is
funny. I can't wait for you to see it. I'm on the show for the second half
hour. The first half hour is the cast of the movie BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN, but
after their segments Madea and I are up and it is funny. Set your Tivo and
your recorders if you can't be there to see it.

Can you believe we are less than four weeks away from Madea's Family Reunion
opening? Time is flying. I can't wait for you to see this movie. There are
two scenes that I am still blown away by, one is the wedding, and the other
is Cicely Tyson's speech on the porch of the cabin. I can't take credit for
what happened that day because it was not me. God was there, and that speech
was so powerful that I was glad that the cameras were rolling. When we
showed it to a test audience they started applauding in the theater before
she finished.

I'm going to send you another e-mail in a few days so that you all can get
the number for advanced tickets. I want all the people that were there in
the beginning to be there first. Even though we have more screens this time
I still don't think they are enough, so I'll give you guys heads up. You
can hit the Message board with the real reviews. You know I don't know what
the critics will say this time.

Well I got to go. The calendar page will be up really soon so you guys can
see what else is going on. I'm in D.C. now performing at Constitution Hall.
All my Philly people thank you for your e-mails and dealing with that drama
to get those tickets. We will have a great time when I get there.

Oh Oprah, Gayle, Quincy Jones, and Terrance Howard came to the show in L.A.
and they laughed so hard at one point that when I looked at Oprah and Quincy
I thought they were going to fall out of their chair. On Saturday Chaka and
Prince came through. During the old school medley I asked them to sing.
Chaka did Sweet Thang and the crowd went crazy. I looked at Prince while
Chaka was singing and mouthed the words Purple Rain and he said yes. He
started singing and the place exploded with screams. It was unreal I wish
ya'll could have seen that. After it was over I went to the dressing room
and asked God when did I get to this place.

Wow, that is friggin cool! The play "Madea Goes to Jail" was just here in Cleveland recently. Didn't go see it, but it got a lot of advertisement on local radio.

Just let everyone know this is very true ,This letter was sent from Tyler Perry to everyone who is signed up with his fan club.This is actuallly very true, I just hope that he chooses this show that he is going to release later this summer. He would still have to get permission from Prince and Chaka to use them in his video.

Wow my son told me this a few days ago that Prince song Purple Rain at the Medea Goes 2 Jail show and I told him it was not true because I had not heard it. He told me it was true because his lady friend was there 2 witness Prince singing it

And let's not forget to support Madea's Family Reunion when it come out next month in theaters.

Oh, and I gotta see this play and Madea's Class Reunion-- that's the only one IO haven't seen yet on dvd.

this is quite true!! my little sister got to attend 'free' thanks to a co-worker. Called me up the next day xcited as hell and to rub it in. She said the show was funny as hell and the 'old school' segment was totally improvised. "Madea' was (on stage) giving props to old school music. Sang a few bars to diffent songs. Saying how old school music , 'messes you up'. Next 'she' Stopped- Made eye contact with 2 people sitting in the audience and proceded to walk towards them. Next handed out a mic to some sista in the audience. The crowd had no idea who Madea was giving to mic to.

BAM. Chaka blew first. did her entire song! Next 'Madea' started talking about our man and his music. My sister realised that P was sitting with Chaka!! Madea had a guitar brought out and handed to Prince --who played Purple Rain (while sitting). Full version! (Sound at the kodak theater was clean)She said the guitar work was off the hook and yeah, the crowd was screaming their heads off!!!!! First and foremost cuz it was Prince. next because everyone thought he would decline playing.
And as usual, later, when the lights dimmed at the end of the showing of the new movie trailer...he broke for the exit.
And yeah, she said while walking out-everyone had a BIG COOLaid smile across their face. Not only was the play funny and entertaining. But they felt they got a FREE mini-concert as well.
and for anyone wondering. my sister was the ghetto-assed-one making all that damn noise -crinkling the bag of chips she smuggled up into balcony section.

I absolutely love Tyler Perry's work. His plays promote the Gospel delivering a strong message, while staying urban funny at the same time.

Prince performing at the spur of the moment like that,.. our fav short guy has come a long way with his public appeal and attitude towards fans...IMO.

Now I Wudda Paid 2 C That!!! Tyler Perry Is Off Da Meat Rack!!! (any man better known as a woman than a man...) RuPaul, Flip Wilson, Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawrence, Tyler Perry, etc..., Need I Say Mo'??? Saw play @ Symphony Center In Newark, NJ & Tyler Perry Came Out Onstage 2 Thank The Crowd 4 Making The Movie #1, With Very Lil' Backing From The Hollywood Powers That Be... Told How He Had 2 Put Up 1/2 The Bricks Himself Just 2 Get The Amount Of Screens He Wanted. Then It Turned Around & Shot Up 2 #1!!! DAMN!!! But 2 Have & Chaka Give A Mini Impromptu Interlude During The Show Is Like Buyin' A Ticket 4 A Buck, Then End Up Winnin' The MoFriggin' Lottery With It... Keep On Keepin' On!!! HOLLA!!!

Sounds amazing! The Medea/Tyler Perry plays are really funny but I would recommend renting before buying. I think everytone will have their favorites. I can't wait for them to release "Medea Goes To Jail" on DVD... I didn't know this would be Prince's bag!
