DIAMONDS & PEARLS ROCKS!

I've been reading that many of u consider the Diamonds & Pearls era like a low flow in Prince's music and inspiration.

I would like 2 know why, seen that I should say that 1990-1992 was one of the tops reached by the man in his career.
For the level of the band, the good vibes, the moltitude of live instruments and so on..

I love D&P...i think it's one his best albums.

This was my FIRST Prince album...getting for Xmas in '91, putting it on and hearing the 'THUNDER' chorus blast my ears - i was hook, line and sinker!!!

D&P was the first Prince album I've waited for... I got into Prince music in 1990 after GB was released. Through this time I got to listen to all the previous albums but of course also waited for a new one... and it was D&P. I remember buying it on a cassette and listening on my walkman while driving home.

"Thunder" - great memories, till this day I really really like it

"Daddy Pop" - still I can live without the song, although the coda is much better

"D&P" - the video helped me to like this song but I don't care that much. Sounds like something Prince didn't elaborate on too much.

"Cream" - dirty, filthy and you all know it smile

"Strollin'" - a nice little song... very enjoyable

"Willing & Able" - great song, I love the video version too, the one that was shown after the first half of the Super Bowl in 1992 - btw, it was the only American football game I watched from start to finish...

"Gett off" - too great

"Jughead" - boring

"Push" - it took me some time before I got into the song, but now it's one of my favourites

"Money Don't Matter 2night" - after getting through the initial shock of seeing "Money DON'T" (I was learning English at that time and each teacher underlined that 'money' is not plural) I got to like the song a lot

"Insatiable" - after listening to this song my friend promised herself her daughter (when she's got one) will be named Martha... that sums it all, I guess smile

"Live 4 Love" - I really enjoy this song but this guitar solo could be longer for my taste smile

anyway, a great album and great memories... plus I don't think Prince has made better videos since that time sad

and why, oh why haven't I seen the D&P show... I remember now, I was in the States there when Prince toured Europe (I'm from Europe)...
