What I mean is that just the fact that he doesn't follow what everybody else does in style says a lot about him, and about his personality that doesn't say much about others...I wish people had more guts or confidence to pull off one's originality and make their own style without being afraid of being ridiculed or labeled 'different'. Context is everything.

Prince is rock star. This is not an every day occupation. You won't find it in your local job opportunities listing.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Prince was a customer service rep, he would be laughed at. Plus, I bet he doesn't have to do everyday things like going to the bank, buying groceries, etc. I am not condoning or advocating this behaviour, rather rationalizing it.

Further still, Prince seems very conscious... he's aware. Gender roles are cultural constructions which should not be mistakened as natural.

Plus, he's probaly got a whole bunch of "YES" men around him who don't have the balls to say anything to him. I mean, there's a show from GLAM SLAM Miami from about 94-96 where Prince turns around and his ass is clearly visible through these mesh pants. Playing behind him are four men, Tommy Barberella, Micheal Bland, Sonny T and Morris Hayes. These guys probaly don't have the balls to say "Hey Prince, could you put some freakin' pants on? I can see your ass!"

Coming back to reality though, I've seen a photo of him from 94-95 where he is clearly dressing like a woman. Can anyone explain why? Psychoanalysis please.
