Okay, don't get to lyin' lol They came on & off a lot but the show was probably under 2 hours - if he'd done any less I would have been PISSED! razz

I have a friend who works for the Fillmore and the production sheet said they were coming off stage/finishing the set right around the time he stopped. So he was going to play that long whether we wanted it (her) or not.

Yea, the set they did seemed about right. I'm just glad they didn't try to fool us by having the entire band leave the stage, which only happened once. & he didn't do that fake "goodnight!" shit either so I wasn't worried smile
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Were you the one shouting "Bobby"? I finally met this guy. I used to hear a lot about him. He seems to be a nice guy. We had a good time.

Ach, I would probably have just spent it on drink and drugs anyway. At least now I have a new memory instead of losing some old ones.

I am a little skeptical of this review. Sound like someone who does not like RnB music.

I love and R&B music. I am currently producing & arranging Jimmy McCracklin's new album. ANd I have no idea how you can deduce that I don't like R&B from my review. ANd for the record WIld Cherry covers are hardly R&B.

Because I have read stuff you have posted before. Maybe you don't really think about what you are typing but you don't come off as a RnB or Funk fan.

"Play That Funky Music White Boy" is a funk song. Not the best of course but a fun funky song.

In addtion, I have read a lot of other reviews that are the total opposite of yours . Just makes me skeptical.

Dude, you're in the Bay Area, you can wear your hair any way you want to. Kinda like UPTOWN.

Yeah, but you have to admit that most R&B is basically pop hip-hop with people singing "soul" style over hip hop tracks. A far cry from Stax records, a far cry from Ike and Tina, light years from Marvin Gaye. So: Prince is probably the most adventerous, interesting R&B artist to date. Because like all great R&B artists he pushes his genre (R&B) into territory it hasn't been before. Making R&B sound like hip hop is old, and boring. ANd the alternative to that-is guys doing "neo-soul" and immitations of older R&B artists.

As far as peoples reviews...it's opinion, and perception. So you can't deduce I don;t like something (Soul Music) because I didn't get into the show.

Nero

p.s. Wild Cherry sucks. IT's a disco song acting like a funk song. Not good.
