3 Chains o' Gold song help I love the Symbol album, and especially the track "3 Chains o' Gold", but something always confused me.
I understand the basic storyline, or what I've heard from the movie, but if they're supposed to be in love, what happened in this song?! The whole thing about "she left me" and "evil girl"? And then her pleading for him to give back the chains? And lastly, what and why exactly does he mean by "You will go before me" ? Thank you for your help, this has bugged me for ages. | |

I can't say for sure, but I interpret the "you will go before me" bit a few ways:
1. He won't let a woman (especially one who has hurt him) get in the way of God. 2. On a more basic level, he won't let his unrequited feelings let him lose sight of himself. I'm probably way off. i think he was just pissed off that he didnt have any cream for his coffee.
his day probably just got worse from there on in. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
