Let's Go Crazy Video Version

I am looking for the video version of this song. I like how this version starts slow then gets fast. Does anyone know where to get this version of the song?

Thanks!

You mean the album version? The one without the compressed vocals at the beginning? Or do you mean the 12" version from the movie?

I thought there was essentially only 2 versions of this song, the edited shorter version on the album and single and the longer 12" version with the plinky-plonk piano in the middle.

There's a single edit, too, where the drums kick in right when he says "life" in the opening monologue.

Yeah, that is the 7" version which is also edited near the end before the guitar solo finale.

I don't want the version on the album or the extended. I'm looking for the one without the talking opening.

If that helps?

What you're looking for is essentially a radio edit of the song. It's almost the same as the album, only parts of the opening monologue are overlapped, making it kinda hard to understand what he says.

However, I don't know if that version is commercially available. You're best bet would be to play the 20th Anniv. DVD on your PC and play the video. Use an audiograbber of some sort and convert the audio to whatever format you want.

This version is available on the US 45. I don't like it because he talks over himself at the beginning. It wasn't edited very well.

been a long time since i've heard that version
i actually feel they did a good job condensing this
gives it some urgency
the other good single edit is "Eye Hate U"
except it faded out too soon... left out that awesome guitar solo
can you imagine if they did the same thing to "Let's Go Crazy"??

I've heard some radio stations make their own edit of "Let's Go Crazy" as well as "When Doves Cry"

They're pretty clean with the edits.

I'm sure their editing equipment isn't that much different than any other free download for the pc?

i don't know about that
i've heard many a fan mix
and so rarely can anyone make a clean edit
let alone keep time
and no, i don't blame that on the software

I wasn't very keen on the 7" edit of Let's Go Crazy, I didn't like the way the
opening speech was layered over itself. So I made my own edit by cutting down
the speech to a similar length, but not overlaying the vocals (so it sounds a
lot like the way Prince himself often edits it down when played live). I left
the reast of the song the same as the album version, and the whole thing
clocks in at 3:56. I use it on my own 'hits' compilations.
